We currently have a career opportunity for an AI Senior Solutions Architect  to join our team in support of clients within the Healthcare and Life Sciences Industry

 

Job Overview:

Lead and scale Perficient's Product Development practice focused on AI-enabled software development lifecycle (SDLC) transformation in highly regulated industries, with a strong emphasis on Healthcare (Providers, Payers, Life Sciences, Digital Health). This strategic role combines practice management, presales excellence, platform engineering, and innovation leadership to drive AI-First, compliance-by-design delivery capabilities across the enterprise. Enable safe, scalable AI-driven development for systems potentially handling PHI, clinical workflows, digital therapeutics, etc.

Key Mandate: Transform software development delivery using AI-enabled methodologies while maintaining rigorous compliance with HIPAA, FDA Part 11, GxP, SOC 2, and HITRUST, alongside PCI DSS, SOX, and ISO 26262 where applicable.

Responsibilities
Practice Leadership & Business Development 
  • Build and scale Perficient's AI SDLC offering, creating, leading, and training multidisciplinary teams across healthcare technology, clinical platforms, and data-centric products. 
  • Lead complex RFPs ($500K–$10M+) in regulated industries, including healthcare provider systems, payer platforms, life sciences R&D, and digital health ISVs, with end-to-end solution architecture and compelling proposals.
  • Establish thought leadership through white papers, conference presentations, and strategic partnerships (e.g., HIMSS, HLTH, life sciences and digital health ecosystems).
  • Create go-to-market strategies including healthcare-specific productized offerings, pricing models, and partner ecosystems (cloud hyperscalers, EHR vendors, AI platform partners)
 
Platform Engineering & Architecture 
  • Design enterprise AI SDLC platforms (cloud-agnostic across Azure/AWS/GCP/on-prem) with privacy-by-design, PHI data isolation, and auditability embedded.
  • Build compliance frameworks translating HIPAA, FDA Part 11, GxP, HITRUST, and SOC 2 into actionable engineering patterns, controls, and CI/CD guardrails.
  • Deliver platform MVPs in 6–8 weeks with small teams (2–4 engineers), balancing speed with quality, patient safety considerations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create reference architectures for EHR-integrated systems, clinical decision support, AI-assisted documentation, and regulated ML pipelines, including model gateways, prompt governance, and evidence automation frameworks
 
 
Innovation & Governance
  • Lead and empower Forward-Deployed Engineers through training curricula including intensive 1–2 week bootcamps 
  • Lead AI Committee evaluations for tool adoption with comprehensive risk, privacy, bias, and regulatory compliance assessments
  • Establish model risk management, validation, audit-readiness patterns, and governance processes 
 
Client Delivery & Team Development 
  • Provide solution architecture for engagements involving clinical platforms, healthcare data systems, and AI-enabled patient or provider experiences, with detailed scope matrices and effort estimates.
  • Conduct executive workshops and technical deep dives with client CTOs, CISOs, CMIOs, and VPs of Engineering.
  • Develop team capabilities through mentorship, training programs, and career development planning.
  • Create demo scripts, technical documentation, and reusable templates that accelerate delivery while standing up to audits and regulatory scrutiny
Qualifications
Experience & Education 
  • 10+ years software development, engineering, or technology consulting with demonstrated technical depth 
  • 5+ years leadership experience 3
  • 3+ years presales/solution architecture in enterprise B2B with proven $5M+ deal wins 
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Engineering; advanced degree (Master’s/MBA) preferred 
 
Technical & Regulatory Expertise 
  • Deep understanding of SDLC, DevOps, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and AI/ML technologies (LLMs, RAG, agents), applied to sensitive healthcare data and workflows 
  • Strong technical credibility with ability to code review, architect solutions, and command engineering respect 
  • Deep expertise in the Healthcare vertical 
  • Proven ability to translate compliance frameworks into engineering patterns and pass regulatory audits 
 
Leadership & Business Acumen 
  • Experience managing distributed teams (10+ people) with strong client relationship skills 
  • Excellent written/verbal communication for proposals, presentations, and executive briefings, including healthcare executives and clinical stakeholders 
  • Consultative mindset with ability to understand client context and recommend pragmatic, compliant solutions 
 
The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $92,118 to $202,730. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential variable compensation programs.
