Job Details:

Job Description:

For nearly a decade, Intel's Neuromorphic Computing Lab-together with a global ecosystem of 250+ research groups-has explored architectures, algorithms, and software inspired by the brain's extraordinary efficiency, scalability, and adaptability. Our Loihi series of research chips pioneered event-driven, sparse, and massively parallel neuro-inspired processing, fueling over 100 peer-reviewed publications that validate the promise of this novel approach. Now, we're entering an exciting new chapter: transforming these breakthroughs into real-world products that will power the coming era of physical AI systems beyond the reach of GPUs and mainstream AI accelerators.

If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of computing, from transistor-level innovation to software abstractions, join us. Help define the next wave of AI technology that harnesses the proven advantages of Intel's neuromorphic computing technology with the versatility demanded by modern AI workloads.

About the Organization:
As part of Intel's CTO Office, you will join a vertically integrated incubation effort dedicated to bringing Intel's neuromorphic technology innovations to market. Our diverse team of engineers and researchers have pioneered sparse, event-based, neuromorphic architecture over multiple generations and is now focused on commercializing the technology in future Intel and partner products.

Position Overview:
You will lead the architecture of Intel's neuromorphic AI software stack and SDK, enabling developers to build high-performance physical AI applications while driving technical strategy, influencing HW/SW co-design, and accelerating ecosystem adoption.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive technical vision for neuromorphic AI software architecture.

  • Architect and deliver a scalable AI stack-from model optimization to compiler and runtime-built on open standards.

  • Integrate neuromorphic software into leading robotics, IoT, and sensing frameworks to enable broad ecosystem adoption.

  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering best practices in software design.

  • Collaborate with customers and partners to design optimized algorithms and applications.

  • Partner with hardware architects to co-optimize HW and SW for performance and scalability.

  • Provide excellent communication and leadership.

  • Support industry standards and represent Intel in technical forums.

  • Open-source projects.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field with 6 years of experience.

  • Experience in leading architecture for complex AI systems.

  • 5+ years in compiler development and AI deployment frameworks (Triton, MLIR, IREE, ONNX, OpenVINO, TVM, XLA).

  • 5+ years in software architecture and design methodologies for scalable systems.

  • 5+ years’ experience in programming skills in Python and C/C++, with writing production-grade code.

  • 3+ years of experience with deep learning, mathematical optimization, or AI frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow).

  • Experience with ecosystem development and external partners.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields.

Experience in any of the following:

  • Low-level systems and accelerator programming (CUDA, LLVM, OneAPI, OpenCL, SYCL).

  • Parallel computing paradigms and performance optimization.

  • Profile and benchmarking algorithms and hardware architectures.

  • Unconventional AI hardware accelerators and neuromorphic computing.

  • Software for robotics and edge/embedded systems.

  • Software architecture roadmaps for emerging technologies.

  • Machine learning and AI algorithms.
