The Opportunity
Join our team at BDA's Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services Capability as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) on the MQ-28 Ghost Bat program.
The MQ-28 Ghost Bat is an uncrewed teaming aircraft designed to be a force multiplier providing affordable, intelligent mass while reducing risk to existing crewed assets. The MQ-28 is the first aircraft conceived, designed and manufactured (outside the US for Boeing) in Australia in over 50 years.
As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), you'll be hands-on with maintenance, modifications, servicing, inspections, testing and fault-finding on aircraft systems.
You will:
  • Collaborate within the MRO team to ensure efficient task completion,
  • Ensure compliance within the DASR Part 145 like Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) regulations,
  • Foster effective communication and coordination with Boeing, customers, and industry teams,
  • Ensure Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, aircraft maintenance/modification operating procedures, and meticulous documentation practices are followed,
  • Embrace a positive attitude towards Environmental Health & Safety, prioritizing the well-being of all personnel.

What you will bring to BDA
As an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will have:
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills ( Mechanical)
  • Be an Australian Citizen to meet Defence security requirements
  • Hold a current driver's licence.

Desirable
  • Previous experience working with Military aircraft.
  • Hold a CASA or DASA Maintenance Licence

This role may require travel and periods working away from home. It's a great chance to immerse yourself in a different environment with our customer while carrying out the duties of the role
