ROLE SUMMARY
The Receptionist is responsible for answering phones, receiving and directing visitors, booking meeting rooms and assist with ad-hoc administrative functions as required.

Job Summary:**
As an Akeso Receptionist at Netcare Hospitals, you will be the welcoming face and voice for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from their arrival. This role is crucial in maintaining the professional and compassionate environment Akeso is known for.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Greet patients, visitors, and staff warmly and professionally upon arrival, providing assistance and directions as needed.
* Manage the reception area, ensuring it is tidy, organized, and presentable at all times.
* Answer multi-line phone systems, direct calls appropriately, and take accurate messages.
* Schedule and confirm appointments for patients, managing appointment diaries efficiently.
* Register new patients and update existing patient information accurately in the hospital system.
* Handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and efficiency, escalating complex issues to appropriate personnel.
* Process patient admissions and discharges, including documentation and payment collection.
* Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
* Assist with general administrative tasks, such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
* Collaborate effectively with medical staff, nurses, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
Job Qualifications:**
* Matriculation certificate or equivalent qualification.
* Previous experience in a reception, administrative, or customer service role, preferably within a healthcare environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and friendly demeanor.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
* Proficiency in computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
* A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
* Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
