The Wall Street Journal is seeking an ambitious reporter to lead our coverage of Alphabet, delivering a high-impact mix of breaking news, agenda-setting scoops and robust enterprise projects.

This is a rich beat with an abundance of compelling storylines, from Google’s dominance in search and digital advertising, to Alphabet’s growing cloud and chips businesses, DeepMind’s role in the artificial intelligence race and YouTube’s transformation of the business of entertainment. Candidates should have five or more years of experience in high-stakes business or tech reporting, with a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to land definitive stories on major companies that resonate globally.

You will:

  • Work with colleagues across bureaus to conceive and execute complex projects and multimedia series.

You have:

  • At least five years of professional journalism experience covering major corporate beats, preferably tech.

  • A demonstrated ability to separate from the pack and find original angles on stories the entire world is watching.

  • The metabolism to deliver a steady cadence of quick-turn news while advancing enterprise work.

  • Top-notch writing chops and a proven ability to deliver scoops and compelling features alike.

  • A collaborative spirit and a desire to partner with visual, data, and investigative teams to win on the biggest stories.

  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with colleagues in other offices and time zones.

  • Experience navigating complex legal and sensitive corporate environments is a plus.

To apply, please submit a resume and a cover letter explaining how your skills, experience and interests align with the expectations of the role by July 10th.
