Business Unit Overview:

The Americas Institutional Businesses (AIB) is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sophisticated institutional investors. Across the US, Canada and LatAm, AIB is focused on helping defined contribution (DC) plans, pensions, universities, non-profits, family offices, healthcare systems and other institutional investors meet their financial goals and serve their constituents and communities.

The Client Solutions Group (CSG), part of The Americas Institutional Businesses (AIB), leverages BlackRock’s investment and technology expertise to deliver investment solutions, portfolio analysis, and industry thought leadership to clients across the U.S., Canada and Latin America.


Role:
The Analyst / Associate will perform bespoke portfolio analysis such as risk return analysis, historical time series analysis, portfolio optimization, and asset class focused analysis. They will also assist in creating industry thought leadership and peer studies and perform data analysis. Additionally, they will work on reviewing and modeling financial reporting information of corporate clients. This role is ideal for candidates who are energized by analytical problem‑solving, cross‑functional collaboration, and exposure to both investment portfolio work and corporate‑finance‑oriented enterprise advisory.


Job Description

  • Crafting client portfolio diagnostics, as well as analyzing data to drive thought leadership insights, and being versed in the BlackRock product suite.

  • Participate in client meetings and conference calls in preparation for and, in completion of client projects.

  • Respond to client portfolio assessment requests by crafting robust, customized analyses.

  • Perform data analysis to support sales lead generation and industry thought leadership.

  • Perform detailed portfolio analysis encompassing returns-based style analysis, factor analysis, holdings analysis, risk and return attribution, scenario analysis along with portfolio optimization exercises.

  • Assist in developing enterprise‑level diagnostics that incorporate corporate finance, tax, accounting, regulatory, and capital‑markets considerations.

  • Continually expand and deepen investment, portfolio construction and BlackRock product knowledge base, by staying abreast of current market environment and the latest relevant investment and industry research.

  • Develop deep and meaningful partnerships with internal stakeholders, including Relationship Managers, Product Strategists and related teams.

  • Maintain and develop knowledge of BlackRock products, investment themes, sales strategies, systems and applications to fully support other team members and partners with all inquiries.

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required. Progress toward CFA a plus.

  • Ability to grasp quantitative concepts of risk and exposure, and their application to portfolio management.

  • Technical skills including advanced Excel and Aladdin. and programming experience a strong plus.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market environments and perform under tight time constraints.

  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience and knowledge of a range of investment options including traditional long-only strategies, alternatives, and multi-asset solutions desired.

  • Interest or experience in corporate finance, treasury analytics, capital‑markets strategy, or enterprise‑level financial decision‑making strongly preferred.

  • Ability to synthesize complex regulatory, tax, or accounting considerations into clear client‑ready insights a plus.

  • Has, or is willing to obtain, the series 7 and 63/66 licenses.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$90,250.00 - USD$110,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
