Job Summary:

The Assistant Controller assists with the management of accounting, auditing, tax and budgeting within the organization. They are responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies and helping set up control systems.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Controller by overseeing accounting, billing, collections, and financial reporting functions
  • Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
  • Manage journal entries, invoices, etc. and reconcile accounts for monthly and annual closing
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
  • Participate in the preparation for the annual audit(s)
  • Assist with accounting system updates/implementations
  • Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies and imbalances
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values
  • Uphold the organization’s standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes
  • Working knowledge of accounting software
  • Attention to detail and problem solving ability

Required Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field

Required Education and Experience:

  • CPA or CPA eligible
