Description

We’re looking for an Assistant Director of Safety & Security to help lead the day-to-day safety and security operations of our resort. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to lead a security team, respond confidently when challenges arise, and bring a hospitality mindset to every interaction.

Working closely with the Director of Safety & Security, you’ll provide daily leadership to security officers, oversee patrol and incident response, reinforce safety standards, and help ensure our resort remains a safe and welcoming environment for guests, owners, and associates.

If you’re an experienced security leader who is calm under pressure, comfortable making decisions in the moment, and believes great security is both proactive and service-focused, we’d like to meet you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily Safety & Security operations, including shift briefings, officer assignments, patrol coverage, and post compliance.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the resort, proactively identifying and addressing safety and security concerns.
  • Serve as a primary responder for incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, injuries, theft, property damage, and other urgent situations.
  • Lead initial incident investigations, gather information and evidence, secure surveillance footage, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Monitor CCTV, access control, alarms, master keys, access cards, and other security systems.
  • Coach and develop security officers in guest service, de-escalation, emergency response, patrol procedures, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Review incident reports and shift logs to ensure documentation is accurate, thorough, and professional.
  • Assist with emergency drills, safety training, competency assessments, and officer readiness.
  • Support resort vehicle and golf cart safety, parking enforcement, and traffic management.
  • Partner closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, resort leadership, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
  • Help build a service-first, safety-always culture throughout the resort.

Requirements

 What We’re Looking For

  • 2–3+ years of Safety & Security experience, ideally within a hotel, resort, hospitality, residential, or other guest-facing environment.
  • Previous experience as a Security Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, or similar security leadership role strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold security personnel accountable.
  • Knowledge of emergency response, incident management, investigations, patrol operations, and security procedures.
  • Experience with CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and incident reporting technology.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • A hands-on, collaborative leadership style with a strong commitment to both safety and exceptional guest service.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.
  • Valid security registration or license as required by applicable state or local regulations.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to make an impact beyond traditional security operations. You’ll help shape how our team responds, communicates, and delivers safety every day—creating an environment where strong security standards and genuine hospitality work together.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your security leadership career and want to be part of a team where safety, service, and leadership matter, we encourage you to apply.
