Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic individual for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track assistant professor position in the Barowsky School of Business to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in finance. The candidate should have an earned doctoral degree in finance or in a related discipline (ABDs considered) and have an active research agenda. Responsibilities include teaching courses in finance, publishing in high quality journals, mentoring students, and participating in service to the University. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach finance analytics.

The Barowsky School of Business seeks to enhance the professional and personal development of our students through highly personalized and engaged learning experiences. We currently offer the following graduate programs: MBA; MBA with concentrations in Finance, Business Analytics, Marketing, and Global Business; Executive Healthcare MBA; MS in Accounting with a focus on Accounting Analytics; and MS in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. At the undergraduate level, concentrations include Accounting, Financial Management, Global business, Management, and Marketing. Minors in Business, Leadership Studies, Sports Management, and Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship are available. Our small class size, teaching and mentoring philosophy, and core values of study, reflection, community and service create a distinctive experiential learning environment for our students.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Finance.
  • Weekend and evening classes will be required as a part of the teaching load.
  • Contribute to the school through scholarly inquiry resulting in peer-reviewed journal publications and service to the university.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Finance or closely related discipline. ABDs will be considered.
  • Experience teaching Finance at the college level.
  • Active research agenda.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience teaching Finance and Finance Analytics courses at the college and graduate levels.
  • Business and/or professional experience in Finance.
  • Familiarity with the CFA curriculum.
  • Publication record in peer-reviewed academic journals.
