Job Description

Nextpoweris seeking an Assistant Sourcing Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive sourcing strategy for EBOS (Electrical Balance of System). Major responsibilities include managing product costs, product sourcing/outsourcing, product development, supplier performance, and go-to-market readiness. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of strategic sourcing methodology, procurement processes, supplier management, and manufacturing operations, particularly within the renewable energy sector.  The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and enjoys the challenges of building and scaling a business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Sourcing Manager with executing sourcing strategy for eBOS product roadmap for US and global regions

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish new suppliers to ensure a competitive, reliable and high-quality supply chain.

  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee performance to meet quality standards and delivery timelines.

  • Conduct RFP and negotiate lowest Total Cost of Ownership for material and outsourced products

  • Continuously assess supplier performance in cost, quality, engineering support, and reliability, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

  • Track product line cost, establish cost target, and partner with Purchasing team to drive material cost reduction initiatives

  • Help negotiate and track MSA, VMI, SLA, amendment, etc.

  • Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and quality assurance, to align sourcing activities with production requirements.

  • Conduct cost analyses, identify opportunities for cost optimization, and implement strategies to enhance financial efficiency.

  • Ensure procurement processes comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to sourcing and procurement, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and financial instability of suppliers.

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on commodity and industry trends to refine sourcing strategies.

  • Manage RFQs, support contract manufacturing services (CMS) negotiations, and handle escalations.

  • Oversee quarterly pricing cycles, inventory revaluation, non-recurring expenses (NREs), reconciliation, and capacity expansion.

  • Maintain supplier performance metrics and organize quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key suppliers.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of strategic sourcing standard operating procedures

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the team.

  • Perform other assignments as directed

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 4-6 years of strategic sourcing and supply chain experience in electrical or electronics manufacturing; Experience with utility-scale solar, eBOS (e.g., Wire harness, Combiner Box, Load-Break Disconnects, IPC, Trunk Bus, In-line Fuses) highly desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred

  • Proven experience managing a global supplier base and distributed teams.

  • Deep knowledge of wire harness manufacturing processes, box integration, and mechanical assemblies.

  • Experience with NPI and managing complex projects a plus

  • Well versed with strategic sourcing methodology

  • Demonstrated track record of successful cost reduction

  • Must be comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Strong negotiation skills, analytical mindset, creativity, and effective communication abilities.

  • High level of autonomy and accountability for results.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in the solar or renewable energy industry.

  • Experience working with EPCs, EBOS.

  • Willingness to travel (up to 15%) across Asia, the U.S., and Europe.

The annual salary range for this position is $120,000 to $135,000 (Specific to California)
