Tempus is seeking a highly qualified Commercial Strategy & Operations Associate to join our growing team. This role will broadly support our Commercial Diagnostics organization, specifically Oncology Diagnostics sales focused on healthcare providers and systems. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a movement to bring precision medicine to the point-of-care with data and artificial intelligence. 

Hybrid role - 3 days at Headquarters in Chicago

Responsibilities: 

  • Act as a strategic advisor to sales leadership, providing insights and proactive recommendations to optimize commercial execution.

  • Manage strategic planning cycles, including annual goal setting, quarterly business reviews, and cross-team initiative alignment.

  • Drive change management and adoption of new initiatives, tools, and processes across sales teams through effective communication and training programs.

  • Identify, prioritize, and recommend strategic growth opportunities based on business performance trends, customer feedback, and market intelligence.

  • Drive sales force effectiveness through sales enablement programs and resources

  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives for both clinical oncology and precision medicine sales teams through sales strategy, execution, enablement, and operations. 

  • Be a cross-functional leader that builds cohesive operations across commercial departments to ensure aligned vision and execution of team goals

  • Support creation of content for Provider business leadership team including quarterly leadership meetings, customer-facing presentations, and internal strategic initiatives

  • Cross-functional coordination of teams across marketing, medical, sales operations, customer success, product, and learning and development teams. 

  • Collaborate with leadership on communication strategies

  • Work collaboratively with Commercial Strategy & Operations Manager on go-to-market strategies for new products and partnerships

The successful candidate for this role will be:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, analytics, finance, economics or/and biological sciences (biology, biochemistry, etc.)

  • 3-5 years of post-graduate experience, preferred background includes consulting, business analytics, or start-up in the Life Sciences space. 

  • 1–2 years of professional experience, ideally in consulting, business strategy, or Life Sciences startups; MBA or related graduate degree preferred

  • Excel and PowerPoint (or google suite) savviness; CRM and data visualization tools (looker or tableau) familiarity are a bonus

  • Strong data manipulation and analysis skills

  • Exceptional communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills

  • Highly organized and systematic

$80,000 - $110,000

The expected salary range above is applicable if the role is performed from Illinois and may vary for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.
