The Associate Director, Analytics & Insights position is an opportunity to have a meaningful and lasting impact in advancing data accessibility and usage at the Conservancy. They join the Business Intelligence (BI) & Analytics team in IT’s Data Services group – a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on building scalable self-service analytics and advancing enterprise data and AI capabilities. Closely partnering within IT, Global Finance, Conservation, and other functions, this role develops and leads execution on analytics initiatives and roadmaps to facilitate the strategic use of integrated data to illuminate insights and accelerate Conservancy impact.
The Associate Director, Analytics & Insights combines technical expertise and relationship-building acumen to provide guidance and recommendations to key stakeholders and influence strategic decisions. They manage all aspects of large and complex analytics and data solution projects to optimize efficiency in decision-making and to facilitate a data-driven culture at the Conservancy. They perform analyses that require a high level of technical competency and act as subject matter expert in their domains. They drive innovation and the application of AI-enhanced analytics solutions to empower business users to explore and appropriately apply enterprise data to answer business questions.
We’re Looking for You:We’re seeking an Associate Director, Analytics & Insights that is inspired by technical challenges, persistent about effective solutions, and dedicated to continuous improvement of team products and processes. They are a self-starter that thrives in an agile execution environment focused on iteration and responsiveness and are motivated to empower business partners to explore and analyze enterprise data. They are proficient working within a framework that includes entity-relationship and dimensional models, data lakes and data warehouses, and reporting tools such as Power BI, AWS Quick Sight, SAS, and Databricks. The successful candidate is dedicated to staying current on analytics and AI industry advancements and evaluating them for potential benefits to the Conservancy. This position is open remote to candidates located in US.
What You’ll Bring:Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and 6 years’ experience in programming and systems design, or equivalent combination.
Experience building visualizations and dashboards with Microsoft Power BI, AWS Quick Sight, or similar BI tool.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams to design, document, and implement fit for purpose technical solutions, including communicating technical concepts to non-technical and leadership audiences.
Experience with data modelling, data governance principles, and enterprise self-service paradigm, including data literacy enablement.
Experience with SQL, Databricks (DB SQL), M, DAX or similar language and data manipulation concepts (e.g., table joins, cardinality).
Experience independently prioritizing multiple competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional customer services skills.
Experience in consulting and strong dedication to customer-centric standards and solutions.
Experience designing, implementing, or working within an enterprise level self-service analytics framework.
Experience incorporating AI tools, such as machine‑learning platforms, natural‑language processing tools, or automation frameworks into analytical workflows to improve efficiency, insight generation, and decision‑making.
Supervisory experience a plus.
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $100,000 – $150,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
