The Associate Photo Editor supports the Creative Marketing photo team in the production, editing, management, and delivery of photography assets across Sony Pictures Television's portfolio of original programming and marketing initiatives. Reporting to the Photo Director, this role plays a key part in supporting photography workflows that serve Marketing, Publicity, Distribution, Consumer Products, Ad Sales, Corporate Communications, and other internal stakeholders.

The Associate Photo Editor combines strong creative judgment with exceptional organizational skills, helping ensure photography assets are produced, edited, approved, archived, and delivered efficiently while maintaining the highest creative and technical standards. This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

The Associate Photo Editor will develop a strong understanding of assigned titles, selecting imagery that supports marketing, publicity, sales, and promotional efforts while maintaining awareness of production and air schedules. The role contributes to unit photography workflows and supports production coordination, editing, approvals, and asset delivery across multiple projects. Working closely with productions, photographers, partner networks, and internal stakeholders, the Associate Photo Editor helps ensure photography assets are organized, approved, and delivered efficiently.

ResponsibilitiesPhoto Editing & Asset Management
  • Handle editing and delivery of still photography, including ingest, QC, metadata, image selects, approvals, and final posting/release of assets.

  • Curate and prepare final image selections that support marketing, publicity, sales, and promotional initiatives.

  • Create and edit screengrabs as needed to supplement unit coverage.

  • Support editing, retouching, and preparation of final key sets for assigned titles.

  • Maintain photo archives and Digital Fusion asset management systems, ensuring assets are organized, searchable, QCed, captioned, and compliant with established standards.

  • Ensure all photography assets meet technical specifications, brand standards, and delivery requirements.

  • Streamline and maintain QC (Quality Control) processes across photography workflows.

Production & Workflow Coordination
  • Support unit photography production workflows for assigned titles, including coordination with productions, photographers, schedules, and asset tracking.

  • Support scheduling and coordination of photographers, talent, productions, and related logistics for assigned projects.

  • Assist in planning and coordinating gallery shoots, including scheduling, photographer communication, talent logistics, approvals, and delivery.

  • Provide production and operational support on gallery shoots, events, and larger-scale productions as needed.

  • Track project status, timelines, and deliverables across multiple concurrent productions.

  • Maintain project information and workflow tracking systems, including Airtable and other production management platforms.

  • Support onboarding and communication with photographers and external partners.

  • Maintain extensive knowledge of assigned titles, schedules, and production timelines.

Stakeholder Support & Delivery
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Publicity, Studio Marketing, Distribution, Ad Sales, Consumer Products, and partner teams to support asset flow, approvals, and delivery timelines.

  • Support approval workflows and coordinate delivery of photography assets to internal and external clients.

  • Ensure photography assets are delivered within agreed-upon timelines.

  • Communicate project updates and proactively identify potential issues or risks.

  • Support relationships with partner networks and external organizations to facilitate photography asset sharing and cost-share initiatives.

  • Identify and gather required assets for assignments and ensure all materials meet project specifications.

Process Improvement & Team Support
  • Help develop and document departmental workflows, procedures, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, asset management, and quality control processes.

  • Support implementation and optimization of workflow, production management, and digital asset management tools.

  • Provide cross-title support as needed based on team priorities and production demands.

Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience within television, studio, or network environments, ideally supporting entertainment photography or photo production workflows.

  • Understanding of unit photography workflows, production environments, and asset delivery processes preferred.

  • Experience coordinating projects, timelines, vendors, photographers, or creative asset delivery workflows preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.

  • Strong proficiency with Mac OS and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with Digital Fusion, Photo Mechanic, or similar asset management platforms preferred.

  • Strong eye for composition, color, image selection, and visual storytelling.

  • Retouching skills a plus.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $31/hour to $39/hour. This role may also qualify for incentives and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
