Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Client Leadership
- Own and grow a portfolio of client relationships, serving as a strategic partner to C-suite and senior leadership (SVP/EVP/C-suite level)
- Lead the scoping, design, and delivery of the most complex and high-impact client engagements across BMI’s analytics offerings
- Present analyses, strategic recommendations, and commercial implications to executive audiences with authority and nuance
- Anticipate client needs, proactively identify new opportunities, and expand existing relationships into multi-engagement partnerships
- Drive business development activities including pipeline development, pitch preparation, proposal writing, and capability presentations
- Contribute to BMI’s revenue growth targets through new client acquisition and account expansion
- Represent BMI in industry forums, conferences, and client events to strengthen the firm’s market presence
- Collaborate with Partners and fellow Associate Principals to shape BMI’s go-to-market strategy for analytics services
- Provide senior oversight across multiple concurrent engagements, ensuring analytical rigor, strategic relevance, and on-time delivery
- Guide Managers and project teams through complex analytical challenges, offering thought partnership and quality assurance
- Ensure all deliverables meet BMI’s standards for insight quality, narrative clarity, and strategic impact
- Champion a culture of intellectual honesty—encouraging teams to speak the truth through data, even when findings challenge assumptions
- Shape the strategic direction of BMI’s Analytics practice, including service offerings, methodological innovation, and talent strategy
- Lead the development of proprietary tools, frameworks, and intellectual property that differentiate BMI in the marketplace
- Drive knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement across the Analytics team through training, mentoring, and community building
- Recruit, develop, and retain top analytical talent—building a team that stays curious and grows together
Domain & Technical Mastery
- Deep expertise across pharmaceutical commercial analytics including forecasting, market access, pricing strategy, field operations, and launch analytics
- Strong command of advanced analytical methodologies, with the judgment to select the right approach for each business question
- Familiarity with the full landscape of pharma data assets (claims, EMR, prescription, payer access, market research)
- Experience in specialty therapeutics (oncology, rare disease, gene therapy) strongly preferred
- Proven track record of building and growing client relationships at the executive level
- Demonstrated business development success including pipeline generation and revenue growth
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams across onshore and offshore environments
- Strategic thinker with the ability to connect analytical insights to broader commercial and corporate strategy
- Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex organizational dynamics
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—able to distill complexity into clarity
- Collaborative leadership style that builds trust, empowers teams, and drives accountability
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MBA, or MS) in a quantitative field, life sciences, or business
- 8+ years of experience in life sciences consulting, pharmaceutical analytics, or a related professional services environment
- Demonstrated career progression with increasing scope of client ownership and business development responsibility
- Proven people management and team leadership experience
