Associate Product Manager, Core Experience

Our purpose is to increase economic opportunity and make better money. We’re doing that through two connected parts that together make up the Reserve project.

UGLYCASH is a financial services app designed around the needs of people earning money on the internet: creators, remote workers, freelancers, and entrepreneurs whose banks weren’t built for how they earn.

We’re starting in Latin America. Over the last 22 months, UGLYCASH has reached $5M+ in revenue run rate and 32,000+ monthly active customers.

This is the side of the Reserve project you’ll be working on.

What happens to that money after you earn it matters too.

Cash, money in a bank account, and payment stablecoins each work differently. We believe the money people use should do more than move from one place to another. It should also give people a better way to save and grow what they earn.

That’s why we’re continuing to improve the version of money UGLYCASH customers already use, with the long term goal of giving more people access to better options for their money.

There aren't layers of people between you and the product, the customer, or the decisions being made. You'll work directly with founders and founding engineers on the core experience of moving real money.

Money comes in, moves between accounts, gets spent on cards, and crosses markets. Behind every transaction is a customer experience, an underlying system, and hundreds of details that determine whether someone trusts the product.

You'll learn how those systems work by actually working on them.

We're hiring for the product owner you can become over the next 24 months, not the title you already have. You'll start with focused problems, experienced people around you, and real responsibility. As your judgment grows, so will the size of the problems you own.

If you're early in your career and want to understand how a fintech product actually works end to end, this is the kind of seat that's hard to find.

You'll learn how customer behavior, engineering, financial operations, and commercial decisions connect across a fintech and blockchain product.

A clearer card decline, a more reliable deposit flow, better monitoring, or a support tool that eliminates hours of recurring work can meaningfully change someone's experience with UGLYCASH.

Your job isn't just to close issues. It's to understand why they happened, improve the experience, and help prevent them from happening again.

• Stay close to support, customer feedback, and product data to understand where people struggle.
• Investigate issues alongside engineers, understand the impact, trace the root cause, and determine what should happen next.
• Take defined improvements from prioritization through implementation, verification, and measurement.
• Identify recurring problems and improve the product flows, monitoring, systems, or internal tools behind them.
• Use AI to accelerate investigation, analyze data, automate repetitive work, and prototype solutions while checking the quality of the output.
• Build the judgment to own increasingly complex parts of the core experience independently over time.

You don't need a previous PM title or banking experience.

We're looking for curiosity about how systems work, attention to detail, and the determination to close the loop. You notice when something doesn't make sense and work toward an explanation. You care about the person affected as much as the technical symptom.

Show us evidence that you've taken responsibility for a project, process, or problem and made it better. That could come from operations, support, QA, engineering, a small business, coursework, or something you built independently.

You should be comfortable with data, willing to learn technical concepts, and clear about what you know versus what you still need to investigate. You can prioritize, communicate a blocker, ask for help when you need it, and act on feedback.

You've used AI to produce something useful, whether that's an investigation, analysis, small tool, automation, prototype, or other concrete result. You can explain how you checked whether the output was actually correct.

SQL, scripting, and experience with logs or APIs are useful foundations, but the ability to learn technical systems and work effectively with engineers matters more.

Compensation: base salary + equity package

Direct access to founders and founding engineers: Work hands-on with the people building UGLYCASH and learn from a team with more than a decade of fintech experience.

Real ownership: Work on real customer problems and ship real improvements from the beginning.

A defined 24-month growth path:

• First three months: Learn selected product flows, investigate real issues with guidance, and ship focused improvements.
• Months 3–12: Increasingly own a defined part of the core experience, including its recurring issues, monitoring, and improvement work.
• Months 12–24: Grow toward broader ownership across connected product flows and make the product more reliable at scale.

Increasing decision-making room: Founders and engineers will stay close as partners while giving you more independence as your judgment and scope grow.

This is a bet in both directions. You're betting on an early-stage company over a safer, bigger name. We're betting that real ownership, direct founder access, and the chance to understand how a fintech product works end to end, not just one narrow slice of it, matter more to you right now than a title you've already earned.
