Company Overview

Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup, founded by two ex-Navy electrical engineers with a proven track record in robotics and software. We are developing a small, autonomous gun turret that employs advanced computer vision and control systems to precisely target and neutralize small drones and loitering munitions. Our innovative approach requires overcoming significant technical challenges, making this an exciting and dynamic environment for experienced engineers.

With an engineering-first culture, ACS values technical excellence and innovation. Backed by our founders' successful exits from two previous ventures acquired for a combined $180M in 2022, we are committed to ensuring that the groundbreaking technologies we develop will have a real-world impact.

Position Overview:
As an Associate Production Planner, you will support the coordination of materials, schedules, and priorities that keep our manufacturing teams moving. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams to help ensure production has the information, materials, and support needed to successfully build our products.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and excited to learn how complex products are built in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The right candidate has a strong sense of ownership, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively to solve problems.
You do not need extensive manufacturing experience — we are looking for someone with the right attitude, energy, attention to detail, and desire to grow.
What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with creating and maintaining production plans to help manufacturing teams understand upcoming work and priorities.

  • Support the release of work orders and material requests to help keep production moving.

  • Help track material availability, inventory levels, and potential shortages.

  • Assist with updating production schedules and communicating changes to the appropriate teams.

  • Support daily coordination between Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams.

  • Help maintain accurate information in ERP systems, spreadsheets, and production reports.

  • Assist with identifying issues that could impact production and help coordinate follow-up actions.

  • Learn manufacturing planning processes, systems, and tools while supporting the team in improving production execution.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts by helping organize data, identify opportunities, and improve processes.

    What You’ll Need:

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.

  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different teams.

  • Comfortable working with computers, spreadsheets, and learning new software systems.

  • Ability to ask questions, learn quickly, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience through internships, school projects, manufacturing, operations, logistics, military service, or other hands-on environments.

  • Interest in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, engineering, or advanced technology.

  • Experience with Excel or other data management tools.

  • Exposure to ERP systems, inventory management, or production environments.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, operations, or a related field is a plus but not required.

  • Experience with AS9100 quality systems or US export controls is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary

  • ACS Equity Package

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance

  • Paid Time Off
