Brookfield Global Strategy Group (“GSG”) is a cross-platform team that drives firmwide strategic initiatives, with a focus on identifying, investing, and implementing in transformative technologies and sectors shaping the next generation of investment and operating platforms across Brookfield’s global businesses.

About the role

Brookfield Global Strategy Group is recruiting for an Associate or Senior Associate in our San Francisco office. This is an opportunity to join a small, high-impact team working at the intersection of strategy, investing, and innovation.

The Associate / Senior Associate will help Brookfield assess how transformative technologies and emerging sectors are reshaping the global economy and the firm’s core businesses. The role is focused on forward-looking analysis and strategic positioning, developing thematic insights, evaluating new markets, and engaging with internal and external partners to inform Brookfield’s long-term direction and capital allocation priorities.

This individual will support selective investment and partnership initiatives, contributing to research, diligence, and execution, as well as the ongoing management of strategic relationships. The position reports to the Vice President, Global Strategy Group, Investments, and offers broad exposure to senior leaders across Brookfield’s global platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on emerging sectors and technologies to identify trends shaping the real economy and Brookfield’s core businesses
  • Develop data-driven perspectives and analytical frameworks to evaluate new markets, business models, and partnership opportunities
  • Perform commercial and financial diligence, including developing financial models and analyses, to support selective investment and partnership evaluations
  • Identify key risks and sensitivities within prospective opportunities and support the development of appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Synthesize thematic, market, technical, commercial, and financial insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership, and investment and operating teams
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Brookfield to assess technology adoption opportunities and share emerging best practices
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including founders, investors, corporates, limited partners, and research networks, to build insight and strategic relationships
  • Support the development of new platform concepts, partnership models, and strategic initiatives that extend Brookfield’s reach into emerging sectors
  • Prepare clear, high-quality presentations and briefing materials for senior leadership, investment committees, and internal working groups
  • Contribute to the ongoing management and strategic development of existing partnerships and investments, including performance monitoring and special projects
  • Maintain awareness of global technology, market, and policy developments to anticipate trends relevant to Brookfield’s businesses
  • Coordinate with Brookfield teams globally to disseminate insights, share best practices, and align thematic research efforts
  • Support ad hoc strategic initiatives and cross-platform projects as required
About you
  • 3-6 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, equity research, corporate strategy, or a related analytical field;
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis;
  • Proven ability to conduct structured research, synthesize complex information, and develop clear, well-reasoned recommendations;
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications typically required within an investment analysis role;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill insights for senior audiences;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial judgment and the ability to connect macro trends to actionable investment or operational insights;
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to think laterally across industries and technologies;
  • Demonstrated interest in AI, automation, and other transformative technologies shaping the real economy;
  • Operates independently and proactively, with the ability to take initiative and drive work forward with minimal oversight;
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, functions, and geographies, building strong internal and external relationships;
  • Self-starter who is proactive, intellectually curious, and comfortable operating in ambiguous, evolving contexts;
  • Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude and the ability to contribute to a dynamic, high-performance culture
