About the role

As an Associate Solution Engineer, you will play a vital role in the success of our organization by supporting the sales team in aligning Crunchtime’s solutions with the business needs of our clients. This is a developmental role where you will learn the art and science of technical sales. You will assist with technical evaluations, participate in deep discovery sessions to understand client challenges, and collaborate account executives deal strategy. Under the mentorship of senior solutions engineers, you will learn to develop creative, story-based product demos that highlight the unique value Crunchtime brings to the hospitality industry.

The Associate Solution Engineer is an individual who is self-motivated, highly curious, a quick learner, and thrives in a collaborative, team-selling environment.

What you’ll do as a Solution Engineer
  • Partner with Mid Market Account Executives to understand customers needs and requirements, and develop a strategy to position Crunchtime’s solutions to meet those needs
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations tailored to the business needs and goals of existing and prospective customers
  • Provide a deep level of product knowledge and skillfully answer technical and functional product questions as part of the sales cycle
  • Deliver tailored solution demonstrations geared towards the prospects current pain and future state value
  • Lead technical discussions around enterprise architecture including integration strategies
  • Work closely and collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, product management, marketing, and customer success
  • Prepare and communicate responses to RFPs
  • Support Marketing events including webinars, conferences and trade shows
What we're looking for
  • Sales Partnership: Partner with Account Executives and Senior SEs to identify customer needs and learn how to position Crunchtime’s solutions effectively.
  • Presentation Support: Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations tailored to the specific goals of prospective customers.
  • Product Mastery: Develop a deep functional knowledge of the Crunchtime platform to skillfully answer product questions throughout the sales cycle.
  • Discovery & Strategy: Participate in discovery sessions to uncover client "pain points" and assist in building the technical strategy for accounts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between Sales, Product Management, Engineering, professional services, and Customer Success to ensure a seamless experience for the client.
  • Technical Documentation: Support the sales process by preparing high-quality responses to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and security questionnaires.
  • Event & Travel Support: Represent Crunchtime at marketing events (webinars, conferences, trade shows) and attend occasional travel (approximately 1–2 trips per quarter, ~10%), primarily for quarterly sales meetings and industry conferences rather than deal-specific travel.

Nice to haves
  • Industry Context: Experience working in the hospitality or restaurant industry (front or back of house).
  • Software Familiarity: Exposure to Inventory Management, ERP, LMS, or operations execution solutions.
  • Technical Foundation: Basic understanding of APIs, integration methodologies, or cloud infrastructure, or IT security.
  • Sales Exposure: Previous experience in a retail, hospitality, or internship-level sales environment.

Compensation:

The annual base compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000. The reasonably estimated total cash compensation (base + variable) range for this full-time position will be $95,000 - $100,000.

Actual compensation is based on factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to: job-related skills, qualifications, education, experience, and location. Crunchtime has a location-based compensation system, so someone doing the same job in a different city might have a different pay range.
