About this role

Role and responsibilities

The U.S. iShares Product Consulting team delivers investment solutions and in-depth product analysis to financial advisors, institutional investors, and direct investing platforms. Acting as technical experts across the iShares product suite, the team provides advanced ETF and portfolio analytics to drive education and deepen client understanding of ETF use cases, index construction, active management, product structure, and competitive positioning. The team also generates actionable product insights for clients, distribution partners, and internal stakeholders, working closely with sales and marketing to support BlackRock’s clients.

The team plays a critical role in both winning new ETF business and strengthening existing relationships. By combining investment expertise, product knowledge, and analytical capabilities, iShares Product Consultants serve as strategic partners to sales teams across the Americas. In doing so, they help shape the continued growth of the iShares platform and contribute to the evolution of the broader ETF industry. Through a deep understanding of the industry and client needs, the team also delivers insights that inform product innovation, enhancements, and lifecycle decisions across the iShares lineup.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support ETF investment due diligence for financial advisors and institutional investors.

  • Respond to client inquiries through customized analyses (e.g., risk/return attribution, holdings-based analysis) and clearly communicate insights to clients and sales partners.

  • Support the completion of RFPs and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), collaborating with partner teams to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality responses.

  • Partner with sales teams to support client engagement through conference calls, meetings, and other presentations.

  • Develop and maintain key ETF content and insights to support commercialization of the iShares platform and expand ETF knowledge across clients and internal partners.

  • Proactively share investment perspectives and ETF insights across internal channels, including sales and marketing organizations.

  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to identify new ETF use cases and applications, while incorporating client feedback into product development, innovation and enhancement efforts.

  • Contribute to the continued evolution of technology and analytics to enhance ETF distribution and client engagement.

  • Continuously build investment, industry, and iShares product expertise, staying current on markets, ETF trends, and relevant research.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required. 

  • CFA, CAIA, FRM, MBA or progress towards, preferred

  • 3+ years of direct industry experience, including strong investment management knowledge

  • ETF product familiarity preferred

  • Excellent analytical skills with large data sets, including hands-on experience with tools such as: Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, FactSet or similar systems required

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written along with client facing (investment consulting or sales) experience

  • High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity, ethics, and ability to work independently

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate vertically / horizontally and across functionally / geographically disperse teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Series 7 and 63 required within 90 days of employment

For San Francisco, CA and New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$110,000.00 - USD$150,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
