Venture Growth – Investment Associate, Technology:

The Venture Growth team is actively recruiting for a technology Investment Associate position in our Menlo Park, CA office. The Associate will serve as a core member of our lean deal teams (often just Partner + Associate) and contribute across the full investment lifecycle – from thesis development and sourcing through diligence, execution, and portfolio monitoring.

The individual will primarily be involved with and responsible for:

  • All aspects of investment due diligence: business, market, management, competitive, financial/returns modeling, cap table analysis and legal diligence
  • Conducting extensive market research to bring sector insights to the team and identify potential new investment opportunities in the technology ecosystem
  • Developing relationships with leading private companies by attending conferences and proactively meeting with entrepreneurs and other investors
  • Preparing investment memoranda and presenting analysis and recommendations to the Investment Committee
  • Working on selected internal processes and strategic initiatives

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in technology investment banking, consulting, principal investing (mid/late-stage VC, growth equity or PE), or analytical experience at a high-growth technology company
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for technology and emerging business models; active tracking of important companies, products, and market developments to form independent views about where technology is headed
  • High-ownership, detail-oriented self-starter who can manage multiple workstreams and competing deadlines
  • Advanced analytical / quantitative ability and excel modeling skills
  • Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills to engage effectively with founders, investors, and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to structure and present complex ideas and information in a simple persuasive form, both written and orally
