About this role

About This Role

The U.S. iShares Fixed Income ETF business manages over $1T in AUM across 130+ ETFs and is executing against an ambitious 2030 growth strategy. The Fixed Income ETF Business Strategist is a cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of product strategy, market/competitive intelligence, and distribution enablement — helping leadership shape and drive net new business across client channels.

This individual serves as a business strategist for the iShares Fixed Income ETF business, partnering with distribution teams, portfolio managers, product development, and external stakeholders to deepen client engagement, support future innovation, grow and protect competitive positioning, and accelerate adoption of iShares' fixed income platform.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Market Intelligence:

  • Drive, support and coordinate strategic initiatives for the U.S. fixed income ETF business (including scoping, planning, execution, identifying and resolving issues).

  • Develop, track, and communicate business objectives and key performance indicators to stakeholders proactively and at regular cadences.

  • Support quarterly and annual strategic planning processes, including board prep, GPS ExCo materials, and strategy presentations

Distribution Enablement & Client Engagement:

  • Partner with U.S. Wealth Advisory (USWA) and Institutional distribution teams to help identify client opportunities, and support home office due diligence and model portfolio adoption

  • Help shape and manage thought leadership content creation — including white papers, market commentaries, webinars, client presentations, and media-ready insights

  • Support preparation for senior leadership engagements, board materials, and external media appearances (e.g., Bloomberg, Fox Business)

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Collaborate with index and active fixed income product strategy teams to help align messaging and narratives for client channels

  • Partner with Marketing and Digital teams to ensure content strategy aligns with commercial priorities and reaches target audiences effectively

  • Coordinate with Regulatory & Market Structure colleagues on policy developments that affect fixed income ETF access and distribution

Business Performance & Analytics:

  • Track and analyze Net New Business (NNB), NNB Fees (NNBF), and AUM trends across the fixed income ETF platform, providing regular performance updates and insights to leadership

  • Monitor and analyze competitive landscape across product launches, pricing, flows, and positioning — synthesizing findings into actionable strategic recommendations

  • Maintain and enhance competitive intelligence databases and analytical tools used by the broader team

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in fixed income, ETFs, asset management, or a related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing client presentations, and executive-level materials

  • Proficiency in Excel, programming languages such as SQL or Python, and experience working with data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Greenplum).

  • Strong analytical skills — proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg; comfort with portfolio analytics and data visualization

  • Strong project management skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field preferred
