Position Summary

The Associate Wealth Advisor is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a planning-centric team of advisors to design, build, and protect the financial dreams of clients. This individual will partner with a Wealth Advisor to care for client relationships by actively participating in the financial planning process to address retirement, risk management, estate, and tax considerations. In addition, this individual will be responsible for managing the database of client information and requests, a resource to articulate our investment philosophy, and organizer of best practices.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops a mastery of Focus Partner Wealth’s evidence-based investment philosophy
  • Resource for other AWAs at Focus Partners Wealth
  • Create, edit, and present financial plans through Money Guide Elite, Orion, and Holistiplan
  • Creates a personalized Investment Policy Statement and holistic investment strategy for each client
  • Ability to independently lead client communications and interactions
  • Develop an understanding of the fundamentals of trading. Partner with the Portfolio Management team to approve & execute portfolios, trade recommendations, tax loss harvesting, etc.
  • Determine asset allocation based on clients’ needs, willingness & ability to take risk
  • Diligent recording of client communication and information within client relationship management platform
  • Serves as the day-to-day contact for client needs and collaborates with team members to ensure the highest level of service
  • Assist with client billing reviews and collaborate with the billing department to ensure fees are collected in a timely manner
  • Engages in business planning efforts and actively supports the firm’s strategic priorities
  • Ability to meet with clients in person. Some travel may be required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years financial planning experience
  • Series 65
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills; team-orientated approach 
  • Knowledge of financial industry, financial products, and financial planning concepts
  • Clean U4

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $83,000 - $88,000.  Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set.  The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.  Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
