About the Role
As an Audiovisual (AV) Engineer at OpenAI you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing and ensuring the availability, reliability, and exceptional ease-of use of our conference room audio visual and video conferencing infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expert-level experience in audiovisual design, programming and implementation of enterprise AV systems and moderate but demonstrable networking and general IT capabilities.
This is a hybrid role and will require 3 days a week in our San Francisco office.
In this role, you will:
Develop and manage the ongoing improvement of conference room audio visual and video conferencing (AV/VC) design and build standards
Oversee AV/VC design and build process for new global office build outs
Manage and produce CAD packages including standards, construction sets and proposals
Manage programming and commissioning of our AV spaces
Design AV systems ranging from conference rooms, to premier event spaces.
Develop next generation AV automations, workflows and processes
Develop and manage integrations between AV and IT systems
Troubleshoot and repair conference room AV systems
Work closely with ITAV Events and Upkeep to refine standards and systems to fit business need
Lifecycle management for conference room AV/VC technology
Implement and maintain global AV break/fix service plans
Maintain knowledge on latest industry trends in AV/VC
You might thrive in this role if you have:
8+ years experience in design, installation, and troubleshooting of enterprise AV including direct experience implementing and using Google meet, Logitech and Cisco video conferencing hardware.
Proven experience managing global AV office deployments of over 300 av spaces.
Demonstrable CAD (Revit, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Visio) drawing package production experience.
Event space design and commissioning experience with production equiptment like Vizrt, Analog Way, Yamaha, Panasonic, QSYS, NDI, Dante, SRT, Ross, ST2110, Madi, etc..
AV Scripting experience (Lua, Appscript, Python).
Expert with video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Meet, Teams).
Experience developing RFPs (Request for Proposal) for AV integration vendors and managing the bid/build process.
Experience with enterprise networking technologies and architectures (Multicast routing, switch configuration, QoS, IGMP).
Experience with wayfinding and conference room booking hardware and software.
Deep understanding of AV over IP (QLAN, ST 2110, Dante, NDI) and how to deploy it safely in a corporate network environment.
Experience with IT ticketing systems and maintaining support SLAs.
