About us:

Parabola is a workflow builder that makes it easy to organize and transform messy data from anywhere—even PDFs, emails, and spreadsheets—so that forward-thinking teams can automate the work they thought would always be manual.

Teams at fast-moving companies like Brooklinen, On Running, and Flexport use Parabola to save hundreds of hours and finally take on the projects that used to feel out of reach. Whether it’s reconciling inventory across multiple 3PLs, auditing invoices, or manually exporting the same report every Monday, Parabola gives teams the power to automate it—all without needing engineering support.

Parabola is backed by OpenView Partners, Matrix Partners, Thrive Capital and more.

About the role:

The Automation Engineering team at Parabola is the conduit through which our largest and most strategic accounts pass through on their way to unlocking the maximum value from our product. Beginning in the sales cycle, the Automation Engineering team collaborates directly with customers and Account Executives to define success criteria and mutual action plans for achieving value in less time than expected. Through training sessions, hands-on workshops, and everything in-between, Automation Engineers work closely with customers to design and deploy AI-powered workflows that automate complex business processes and unlock new efficiencies. You’ll guide them from initial design through successful execution, ensuring each solution delivers long-term impact and value. The Automation Engineering team ensures each customer receives a first class onboarding experience, a seamless transition to our CX team, and a framework for success with our product.

About You:

You love customers. You understand their challenges, you feel their pain, and you celebrate their accomplishments and “ah-ha!” moments as if they’re your own. You have a knack for solving complex problems and lean into learning our customer’s systems, industries, and internal processes. You are equipped with soft skills to effectively build & manage relationships, while also having the technical skills to troubleshoot APIs, query databases, prompt the latest AI models, and build robust Parabola flows. You have experience building robust project management artifacts and managing multiple projects at once. Above all else, you are passionate, confident, and personable - you represent our company with pride and champion for the customers you support.

What you'll be doing:

  • Prepare and lead team based user trainings, requirements workshops, and co-building exercises with customers.

  • Build, document, and maintain project artifacts such as project plans, training material, presentations, etc.

  • Building & troubleshooting complex Parabola flows, including configuring new API connections (REST & GraphQL), SQL queries, and more.

  • Collaborate with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle by assisting with discovery sessions, leading product demos, & building proof of concepts with prospective customers.

  • Document and surface feedback from customers to internal product and engineering teams.

What (we think) you'll need to do it:

  • ~3+ years of previous experience working in a customer facing capacity (implementation consultant, sales engineer, onboarding specialist, CSM, etc.).

  • Comfort and familiarity with prompting AI models

  • Hands-on experience digging into data and demonstrating an expert understanding of Excel, SQL, and (ideally) APIs.

  • Expert problem solving capabilities - you enjoy breaking down problems and designing effective solutions across industries.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and can build trust and rapport with others quickly.

  • You have a passion for learning - you can dive into new industries, systems, workflows, etc. and ramp quickly.

  • You're based in San Francisco and comfortable commuting to the office 3-4x a week.

Nice to haves:

  • Previous experience working with no/low code tools.

  • Experience working in a project based role - i.e. consulting.

  • Knowledge of supply chain fundamentals or logistics

  • Previous experience working in a start up environment.
