Space is a warfighting domain. True Anomaly seeks those with the talent and ambition to build the technology that secures it.

OUR MISSION

True Anomaly delivers decisive capabilities for space superiority. We build autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors — enabling the U.S. and its Allies to secure the space environment and counter threats from the ultimate high ground.

OUR VALUES

  • Be the offset. We create asymmetric advantages with creativity and ingenuity.
  • What would it take? We challenge assumptions to deliver ambitious results.
  • It’s the people. Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together.

YOUR MISSION

We are seeking a talented and motivated Avionics System Integration & Test Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead and support the integration and verification of advanced avionics systems, ensuring all subsystems perform reliably together in demanding aerospace environments. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting integration and system-level tests, collaborating closely with design, hardware, and software teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and execute integration and test procedures for avionics systems, including hardware, software, and communication interfaces.
  • Execute requirement verification and validation for complex aviation and spaceflight electronics, including FPGAs, embedded processors, sensors, and communication buses.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing to develop test plans, scripts, and automation tools for integration and end-to-end testing.
  • Define and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Power-On, and environmental tests for avionics units and integrated systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-level integration issues across electrical, software, and mechanical domains.
  • Ensure test processes and results are well-documented, clear, and compliant with aerospace quality standards.
  • Participate in requirement reviews, design reviews, and system readiness checkpoints.
  • Analyze data to characterize system performance, identify issues, and drive corrective actions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Years of experience in avionics system integration and/or test engineering for aerospace applications (spaceflight, satellites, spacecraft, or similar) in line with engineering level.
  • Practical experience with integration and verification of avionics subsystems, such as power systems, communications (SpaceWire, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, UART, RS-422, Ethernet), guidance/navigation (GPS/IMUs), and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and system-level test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, power analyzers, etc.).
  • Proficient in developing test plans, requirements tracing, test scripts (Python, MATLAB, or similar), and test automation tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and embedded systems.
  • Solid understanding of space-relevant avionics qualification and acceptance standards (e.g., NASA-STD-8739.4, ECSS, MIL-STD-1540, MIL-STD-883, NASA GEVS, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with space vehicle avionics or satellite bus integration & test processes.
  • Knowledge of system safety, fault management, and redundancy in avionics architectures.
  • Experience with environmental and EMI/EMC testing.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, requirements management, and issue tracking tools.
  • Previous work with mission operations or on-orbit test and diagnosis is a plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Base Salary:

  • Engineer Level 1: $70,000-$95,000
  • Engineer Level 2 $85,000-$115,000
