The Account Coordinator is responsible for reviewing submissions for insurance risks that do not fit within the scope of Pearl’s traditional programs for coverage and eligibility. The Account Coordinator determines which markets to refer submissions based on current carrier appetites and guidelines, facilitates communication between the sales team and the carrier/wholesaler during the underwriting process, and negotiates coverage and pricing with carriers/wholesalers.
Your Impact:
- Review submissions for insurance and request any additional information needed; determine which markets to refer submissions per current carrier appetites and guidelines.
- Facilitate the underwriting process with sales and carrier/wholesaler including:
- Soliciting information from the sales team requested by the carrier/wholesaler to provide terms.
- Communicating with the carrier regarding coverage questions.
- Revising terms (i.e., lower premium/additional coverage options or limits) as requested.
- Review bind requests to ensure all subjectivities have been met prior to sending information to the carrier/wholesaler to bind coverage on requested effective date.
- Edit quotes sent by the carriers prior to sharing with the sales team to instruct sales team on what subjectivities are needed and the process to bind coverage with proper documentation, per state compliance regulations.
- Issue policies on direct bill accounts and refer binders/policies to the sales team upon receipt.
- Provide post-issue service to existing policies by requesting premium bearing endorsements and reviewing contracts for policy compliance.
- Follow up with the sales team on outstanding information needed for requests and quotes; follow up with carriers/wholesalers on pending submissions.
- Process money, ensuring that the correct amount is corrected from the customer and paid out to the carrier
- Provide insight to the sales and retention teams of viable options for market placement and system usage.
- Continuous knowledge development of products and the marketplace via attending carrier meetings and reading industry publications
- Providing training and assistance with systems and coverages to the sales team
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or a related field
- Previous insurance sales, underwriting, or customer service experience, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interface effectively at all levels within an organization.
- Property and Casualty insurance license (or ability to obtain) is required.
- Industry designations (i.e., CPCU, RPLU, ARM, AIC, CLCS, etc.) are desired.
- Experience in the veterinary industry preferred.

Pay Range:
$15.48 - $20.63 HourlyThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for this role.
