Business Function
DBS Bank is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Global Financial Markets Operations team in Singapore as a Senior Associate or Assistant Vice President. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and controlled end-to-end settlement of Bonds and Repos across global markets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong risk control and analytical mindset, coupled with a deep understanding of fixed income products and securities financing.
Job Responsibilities:
Core Settlement:
- Primarily support the Global Financial Markets business by managing the end-to-end settlement process for Bonds and Repos across all global markets.
- Perform thorough validation of all Bond/Repo trades against source documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and dispatch accurate and timely settlement instructions to custodians across multiple international markets.
- Proactively monitor settlement flows, anticipate potential issues, and swiftly resolve exceptions such as failed trades and mismatches to ensure smooth operations
Control and Exception Management:
- Investigate and resolve potential failed trades, discrepancies, and outstanding items with a strong control mindset, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively mitigate operational risk.
- Actively engage with managers to contribute ideas and develop innovative solutions for enhancing risk management frameworks and practices.
- Process Improvement & Operational Excellence:
- Provide robust support and consistently deliver high service levels to all stakeholders and internal/external clients.
- Leverage data analytics and support a data-driven operating model, utilizing tools like Value Map, to drive pre-defined outcomes and strategic objectives.
- Continuously identify and implement opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual touchpoints, and enhance overall operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain and regularly update SOPs and all process documentation to reflect current practices and ensure operational transparency.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in financial markets operations, specifically in Bonds and Repos settlement.
- Strong product knowledge of Bonds and securities financing trades.
- Demonstrated risk control and impact analytical mindset, with the ability to foresee potential issues and proactively implement solutions.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new infrastructure environments and evolving market practices.
- A proactive and initiative-taking individual who can drive important priorities forward to achieve desired outcomes in risk control and project deliverables.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- A commitment to fostering a workable and friendly work environment.
