Job Description:
Position: AWS Cloud Architect Lead
Location: Washington DC (3-4 days onsite per week)
Senior Cloud Architect Leader (AWS & Windows) with 15–20 years overall IT experience, including 5–10 years in AWS/cloud. Leads onsite–offshore teams, drives automation and documentation, manages SLA-based operations, and acts as the client-facing owner for escalations, RCA, and continuous improvement.
Role Overview
- Manage onsite–offshore team in a cloud-native environment; own docs and automation.
- Run operations governance and weekly customer review meetings.
- Drive improvements across cloud, processes, and tools for faster delivery.
- Handle escalations, define processes, deliver RCA, and manage SLA-driven delivery.
Experience
- 15–20 years overall IT; 5–10 years hands-on AWS/cloud.
- 3+ years leading onsite–offshore teams and SLA-based operations.
Core Skills
- AWS, Terraform, GitHub, networking fundamentals.
- Windows Server and File Server administration; NTFS/share permissions.
- Storage administration; backup and restore; migration experience (AWS/Azure/any cloud).
- Automation and scripting (PowerShell/AWS CLI), documentation, and runbooks.
- ITSM processes (incident/problem/change), KPI/SLI/SLA management.
Nice to Have
- AWS file services (EFS, FSx), DataSync/Storage Gateway.
- Azure exposure for file services.
- Security and governance (IAM, KMS, CloudTrail/Config), cost optimization.
- ITIL Foundation; AWS or Microsoft certifications.
