Coretek is seeking a highly skilled Azure Engineer to join our Managed Services team. This role is responsible for the operational support, optimization, automation, and modernization of customer Azure environments. The Azure Engineer serves as a trusted technical advisor and escalation resource, ensuring secure, reliable, and cost-effective Azure solutions while delivering an exceptional client experience. 

The ideal candidate possesses deep Azure infrastructure expertise, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a passion for automation, cloud operations, and continuous improvement. This role works closely with clients, solution architects, security teams, and service delivery leadership to support both steady-state operations and strategic cloud initiatives. 

Azure Operations & Support 

  • Provide Level 3 support and engineering expertise for Azure-based environments. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Azure infrastructure, networking, identity, security, and performance issues. 
  • Participate in escalation rotations and major incident response activities. 
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive actions. 
  • Ensure adherence to established service levels and operational standards. 

Azure Infrastructure Management 

  • Deploy, configure, maintain, and optimize Azure resources including Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, AKS, App Services, Azure SQL, and backup and disaster recovery solutions. 
  • Support hybrid cloud and hybrid identity environments. 
  • Manage Azure subscriptions, landing zones, resource groups, and governance controls. 

Networking & Security 

  • Manage Azure networking solutions including VNets, VPNs, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, and Load Balancers. 
  • Implement and maintain Zero Trust security principles. 
  • Configure and support Azure Policy, RBAC, Conditional Access, and Defender for Cloud. 
  • Collaborate with security teams to remediate risks and vulnerabilities. 

Automation & Infrastructure as Code 

  • Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates. 
  • Develop automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Azure Automation, and Azure Functions. 
  • Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiency and reduce manual effort. 

Monitoring & Reliability 

  • Configure and maintain Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts, and dashboards. 
  • Develop operational runbooks and response procedures. 
  • Continuously improve system reliability, availability, and performance. 

Client Success & Advisory 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to assigned customers. 
  • Participate in technical reviews and strategic planning sessions. 
  • Present recommendations related to optimization, modernization, governance, and cloud best practices. 
  • Support onboarding of new managed services clients. 
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer, documentation, and service improvement initiatives. 

FinOps & Cost Optimization 

  • Analyze Azure consumption and spending trends. 
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cloud spend and improve efficiency. 
  • Recommend right-sizing, reservations, autoscaling, and governance improvements. 
  • Participate in customer cloud optimization initiatives. 

Requirements

Experience

  • 5+ years of Azure engineering, cloud operations, or managed services experience.
  • 3+ years supporting production Azure environments.
  • Experience supporting multiple client environments simultaneously.
  • Experience performing advanced troubleshooting and incident management.
