Banking Relationship Manager

Dama Financial by LeafLink is seeking a Relationship Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for cannabis industry clients, fostering strong relationships while supporting their banking and financial service needs. This role acts as a trusted advisor to licensed cannabis operators, helping clients navigate banking solutions, maintain compliance requirements, and maximize the value of Dama's products and services.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional client service skills with a strong understanding of regulated industries, financial services, and compliance requirements. This individual will play a critical role in client retention, account growth, and ensuring a seamless client experience throughout the customer lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship & Account Management

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio(100-200 clients) of licensed cannabis businesses, including cultivators, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and ancillary operators.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through regular communication, account reviews, and strategic consultations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, identifying client needs and recommending appropriate banking and payment solutions.
  • Manage client inquiries, escalations, and service requests while ensuring timely resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Compliance, Operations, Product, and Sales to deliver a high-quality client experience.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews to assess client satisfaction, operational changes, and opportunities for growth.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure client activities align with applicable cannabis banking regulations, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies, Know Your Customer (KYC) standards, and state cannabis regulations.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving cannabis regulatory requirements and communicate relevant changes to clients.

Business Development & Portfolio Growth

  • Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand adoption of Dama Financial products and services.
  • Support client retention initiatives and contribute to portfolio growth objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitive activity within the cannabis and financial services sectors.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to strengthen client relationships and support business development efforts.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in relationship management, commercial banking, financial services, account management, customer success, or B2B client services.
  • Strong client relationship and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and business reporting tools.

Preferred

  • Experience serving cannabis businesses, regulated industries, fintech, payments, commercial banking, treasury management, or compliance-focused financial services.
  • Knowledge of cannabis industry regulations and operational workflows.
  • Familiarity with BSA/AML, KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requirements.
  • Understanding of cash-intensive business operations and risk management practices.
  • Experience collaborating with compliance, risk, and operations teams.

$60,000$65,000 USD
