What You'll Bring:
- Paralegal diploma or equivalent legal training.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in a legal, regulatory, or compliance environment (preferred).
- Experience in a highly regulated industry (financial services, credit reporting, privacy) is an asset.
- Bilingual in both English and French (written and spoken).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism in handling privileged and sensitive information.
- Strong ethical judgment and discretion.
Impact You'll Make:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal, Regulatory Affairs to join our Legal team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the management of regulatory matters, litigation, and escalated consumer complaints within a dynamic and highly regulated environment. Working closely with Legal Counsel and cross-functional partners, you will help ensure that legal files, documentation, and processes are maintained with precision, consistency, and audit readiness. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced function at the intersection of legal, compliance, and operations, while supporting regulatory excellence and helping the organization effectively navigate evolving regulatory requirements.
Legal File & Documentation Management
- Maintain and update legal and regulatory records within HighQ (our legal file repository), ensuring information is accurate, complete, and promptly reflected based on incoming consumer complaints, regulatory correspondence, and case developments.
- Prepare and organize List Case Activities (LCA) worksheets, summaries, evidence, and supporting documentation, ensuring materials are complete, clearly structured, and retained in accordance with established processes.
- Manage and maintain Legal shared drives, applying consistent naming conventions, version control practices, and appropriate safeguards to ensure organization, accessibility, and confidentiality of sensitive information.
Complaint & Regulatory Support
- Coordinate intake and documentation for new complaints by partnering with Complaint Management to gather case summaries, LCAs, and supporting materials, ensuring files are complete and organized for Legal Counsel review.
- Support the handling of escalated and regulatory complaints by preparing case files, tracking key milestones and timelines, and assisting with coordination activities to enable timely review and resolution.
- Coordinate the preparation and issuance of consumer response letters by compiling required inputs, supporting draft development, and facilitating alignment with Complaint Management and Legal Counsel to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Participate in Complaint Management meetings and support coordination between Legal and operational teams by sharing relevant updates, capturing key actions, and facilitating follow-ups as required.
Deadline, Calendar & Workflow Management
- Track and maintain hearings, mediations, regulatory deadlines, limitation periods, and key milestones, ensuring all information is accurately reflected and regularly updated in the legal calendar.
- and documentation requirements and proactively highlight items requiring attention to support timely regulatory responses.
- Support Legal Counsel in managing multiple priorities by maintaining organized tracking tools, coordinating updates, and assisting with prioritization of time-sensitive activities in a fast-paced regulatory environment.
Knowledge Management & Process Improvement
- Support the development and maintenance of the Legal Knowledge Center by organizing templates, playbooks, regulatory guidance, and best practices to ensure materials are accessible and up to date.
- Assist in documenting processes, workflows, and lessons learned from regulatory matters to support continuous improvement and institutional knowledge.
- Support the standardization of documentation and complaint-handling practices by applying established guidance and ensuring alignment with Legal Counsel direction and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration & Communication
- Support coordination and communication between Legal Counsel, Complaint Management, Privacy, Compliance, and other internal teams by facilitating information sharing and following up on requests as required.
- Prepare meeting materials and support logistics for Legal and regulatory discussions, including drafting agendas, compiling documentation, and coordinating follow-up actions.
- Handle confidential, sensitive, and privileged information with a high level of professionalism, ensuring appropriate care, accuracy, and adherence to established confidentiality practices.
The expected pay range for this position is $67,000 - $92,000 annually. The pay information provided for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of expected compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of many factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. In addition, variable compensation is based on applicable company guidance and plan documents as well as performance.
This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.This job posting is for an existing vacancy. The opening is the result of a newly created position.
