About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Billing Manager to lead our billing operations. Our company provides telecom management software solutions, and our billing environment is characterized by high transaction volume and low dollar-value line items. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, data-intensive environments and can process, organize, and validate large data sets quickly and accurately while maintaining strong controls and customer satisfaction.



Job Summary: The Billing Manager leads end-to-end billing operations in a high-volume, low-dollar transaction environment, overseeing invoice generation, validation, and distribution while managing and reconciling large, complex data sets across multiple billing cycles. This role processes, organizes, and validates large data sets quickly and accurately while maintaining strong controls and customer satisfaction. Drawing on deep expertise in telecom or telecom expense management (TEM) billing, strong command of ERP/billing systems, and advanced Excel skills, the Billing Manager partners cross-functionally with Accounting, Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to ensure billing accuracy, drive process improvements, and support scalable growth. The role also includes mentoring a team and upholding compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end billing operations, including invoice generation, validation, and distribution for a high-volume, low-dollar transaction environment
  • Manage and reconcile large data sets across multiple billing cycles, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Develop and maintain billing processes and workflows to improve efficiency, scalability, and error reduction
  • Identify billing discrepancies, anomalies, or data integrity issues and drive timely resolution
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate revenue recognition and month-end close support
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to ensure contract terms, pricing, and usage data are accurately reflected in billing
  • Own and continuously improve billing system configurations, automations, and integrations (e.g., CRM, ERP, or billing platforms)
  • Monitor key billing metrics (accuracy rates, cycle time, disputes, DSO) and report to leadership
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and relevant regulatory standards
  • Respond to and resolve escalated customer billing inquiries and disputes
  • Support system upgrades, UAT, and process documentation related to billing

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of billing experience within the telecom, telecom expense management (TEM), or related industry
  • Proven experience managing high-volume, low-dollar-value billing operations
  • Strong proficiency with billing/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Zuora, Salesforce Billing, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with large data sets, reconciliations, and data validation
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, audit, and process large volumes of data quickly and accurately
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Experience with SQL or other data querying tools
  • Familiarity with SaaS or subscription billing models
  • Experience in a software or technology company environment
  • Knowledge of telecom carrier billing structures, invoicing formats, or usage-based billing

Location/FLSA Status: US Based, Remove, Full Time, Exempt
