- The Bio processing Engineer Associate supports transfer of new, semi-automated immunological reagent manufacturing processes, investigation of product and process issues, and participates in improvement projects.
- The BPE Associate works independently on projects assigned by management and senior BPE personnel.
- The Associate is expected to perform experimentation as required by technical teams, implement changes, contribute new ideas and design features, and find innovative methods to accomplish cost savings goals.
- The Associate should be high energy and highly motivated to find solutions to technical problems encountered during implementation of prototype systems.
- Supports teams addressing problems in Reagent Production and Quality Control by performing engineering studies, data collection, and creating/testing process equipment.
- Works closely with production operators and teams in the documentation and implementation of subsequent methods and processes
- Participates in Process Validation.
- Writes Engineering Change Orders.
- Demonstrated Technical Skills, depending on position needs: Automation, Mechanical Design, Fluid Handling, Protein Chemistry, Immunoassays, and Flow Cytometry.
- Working Knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Requires a Bachelor’s in a related scientific/engineering discipline.
- Industrial/research laboratory experience in the medical diagnostic industry desired.
An AS and equivalent experience is also acceptable. - May perform Immunological Assays.
- Experience working with biological an asset.
