CareDx is seeking a motivated and curious Biostatistics Intern to join our Biostatistics team in Brisbane, CA. This internship is well‐suited for undergraduate and graduate students who are eager to apply their classroom learning to real‐world problems in the biotech industry while gaining hands‐on experience with clinical and observational data.

What You’ll Do

As a Biostatistics Intern, you will work closely with an experienced, senior‐level statistician on a meaningful research project tied to real clinical and scientific questions. You’ll gain practical exposure to how statistical methods are used in industry, learn how to work with real‐world datasets, and develop skills that prepare you for future roles in biostatistics, data science, or related fields.

This role is designed to be a learning‐focused, supportive experience where interns are encouraged to ask questions, build confidence, and grow their technical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a senior‐level statistician on a statistical research project related to real‐world biotech and clinical challenges
  • Apply appropriate statistical methods to analyze and interpret data
  • Learn how to evaluate and summarize clinical evidence using real‐world data
  • Present your research findings at the end of the internship program
  • Potentially contribute to a written research summary or manuscript, with possible submission to a peer‐reviewed publication

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Public Health, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Good academic standing (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale)
  • Completion of at least 12 credit hours in a related major and/or relevant coursework
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis using SAS and/or R (academic or project‐based experience is acceptable)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with interest in learning how to present analytical findings

This is the anticipated base salary range for candidates who will work in Brisbane, California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience within the job, the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units. CareDx is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
