About Highlight AI

We're a small, senior team building the intelligent OS for the agentic age. Highlight is a proactive AI that captures your team's context, surfaces what matters, and handles the busywork so you can focus on decisions and building. We ship fast, obsess over craft, and care deeply about user experience and trust. Backed by General Catalyst, Valor, SV Angel, and Conviction, we’re looking for like-minded people to help define how the next generation of knowledge workers get things done.

The Role

We're looking for a founding Brand & Content Lead to join our team and help define how Highlight speaks to the world. You'll own our voice, brand, and narrative, and then translate it into a content engine that resonates across social, email, web, and creator partnerships. Working directly with the founders, you'll help craft the story that earns trust with the next generation of knowledge workers and turn it into a consistent drumbeat of content that spreads.

You're a hands-on storyteller who can take raw product ideas and messy founder thoughts and turn them into narratives that make people feel the value instantly. You have exceptional taste, know what feels right and not cringe, and create high-quality content yourself.

Note: this is an on-site role, requiring five days a week in our office.

Job Responsibilities

  • Define and establish Highlight's brand voice, positioning, and narrative across all customer touchpoints.

  • Create compelling narratives and campaigns for product launches and company milestones.

  • Own and execute content strategy across social, short-form video, blog, newsletters, product updates, and landing pages.

  • Lead our LinkedIn presence (company + exec amplification), publishing thoughtful posts and POVs that build credibility with our audience.

  • Build creator-led growth from zero, and manage relationships with influencers to amplify our story.

  • Develop and maintain a consistent content cadence that grows audience and engagement, by setting up the right playbook and standing up a creative pod to execute.

  • Collaborate across the company to ensure brand consistency across all external communications.

Profile

We’re looking for someone who is interested in building the intelligent OS of the future with us. We punch above our weight so we value extreme ownership, accountability, and proactiveness. The ideal candidate is a hands-on storyteller with exceptional taste, who has a knack for getting their story seen and has experienced how great brands operate.

You are a good fit if you have:

  • 5+ years in content/brand/storytelling roles (startup or high-velocity tech environment).

  • A portfolio of writing (founder posts, brand POV, product storytelling, campaigns) you’re proud of.

  • Proven ability to build a brand voice and make it consistent across channels.

  • Strong instincts for distribution on social and content platforms: you understand what performs and why, you have a nose for compelling vs. cringe.

  • Experience running launches or integrated campaigns end-to-end

  • Ability to translate technical/product nuance into simple, credible messaging

  • Ownership mentality (no task is too small for you) – it’s all hands on deck here and we need everyone rowing the boat.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset – we’re extremely lean so we’re looking for a team player who works well with others.

  • Type-A tendencies: maybe you’re extremely detail-oriented. Or maybe you take pride in shipping high-quality products. Whatever it is you do, you give it your all.

  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to NYC or SF – although we’re flexible with days off & schedules, we have a 100% in-office culture during the week.

And even if you don’t fall neatly into any of these buckets, we’re looking for scrappy and motivated self-starters above all. Hustle is expected, grit is required.

Perks

  • Competitive salary and generous equity package

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Flexible PTO and parental leave

  • Paid team lunches during the week

  • Relocation package

  • Budget authority for creators and paid amplification

  • Tools, experimentation budget, and direct access to leadership and engineering

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
