DEVELOP INSIGHTS TO INFLUENCE AT-BAY’S TRAJECTORY

At-Bay is the world’s first InsurSec provider designed from the ground up to help businesses tackle cyber risk head on. By combining industry-leading insurance with world-class cybersecurity technology, At-Bay offers end-to-end prevention and protection for the digital age. With 98% of cyber insurance claims in the past five years coming from small and mid-size businesses with revenue under $2B, providing an integrated solution to help manage risk is more critical than ever.

At-Bay helps its 40,000+ customers close their security technology and skills gap — all through their cyber insurance policy — making them less likely to be hit with a ransomware attack. As a full-stack insurance company, At-Bay offers multiple lines of specialty insurance, including Cyber, Tech E&O, and Miscellaneous Professional Liability (MPL) policies.

Why join the team:

Joining the Insurance Product team offers a unique opportunity to sit at the center of At-Bay’s growth and decision-making. This team owns the product and segment strategy across the company, directly shaping how we scale and manage our portfolio. The Micro segment is At-Bay’s largest segment by both insurance policy count and premium contribution, and it presents a significant opportunity to continue scaling in a disciplined, profitable way. As part of this team, you will have a direct impact on how At-Bay grows, balancing innovation, risk, and profitability while helping shape the business's future.

Role overview:

You will be part of the Insurance Product team, with a focus on policies with annual revenue up to $25M. You will report to the VP of the segment and be responsible for delivering high-quality analytical output while independently managing end-to-end analytics projects. As a Business Analyst within the broader analytics community, you will collaborate closely with other analysts and business stakeholders across the organization to enhance our ability to consistently, quickly, and accurately deliver insights. Additionally, you will help establish and maintain processes that ensure the Micro portfolio remains clear, consistent, and well-governed. Using a comprehensive toolset of advanced analytics skills and models, you will identify shifts in market and growth performance and translate these insights into actionable decisions for the company.

How you’ll make an impact:

By 3 months you will…

  • Understand our business – how our products, services, distribution, technology stack, and partners serve our customers through insurance and security.
  • Establish relationships with colleagues and understand the roles and functions of the broader analytics and business teams
  • Develop autonomy and familiarity in navigating our data stack and analytics to generate essential insights.
  • You’ll start performing analyses to inform and support strategic decision-making, balancing growth and profitability on the Micro Segment.

By 6 months you will...

  • You’ll have working relationships with key stakeholders and start collaborating to share insights and identify opportunities to drive material impact on the Micro Segment
  • Regularly partner with our go-to-market, Pricing, Risk Analytics, and other teams to improve our products and processes
  • Demonstrate your ability to use analytics to generate insights and drive executive conversations on steps we can take to improve the Micro segment performance
  • Propose data-driven improvements to processes or business practices based on your analysis
  • Establish yourself as the authority for any question related to the Micro segment

What you’ve accomplished already:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
  • About 2-5 years of experience, where you have also led multiple analytics projects from requirements definition to final synthesis. Previous insurance experience not required but is a plus
  • Engaged all levels of stakeholders (frontline to senior exec) in presenting findings and problem-solving
  • Helped organizations translate ambiguous problem statements into concrete recommendations
  • Experience with using SQL to conduct data manipulation, including cleaning/transforming/creating data
  • Demonstrated the ability to deliver explainable models and analytics products that leverage an analytics tech stack (Snowflake/SQL, Python/R, Tableau/Looker, Excel, etc)

Our estimated base pay range for this role is $85,000-$130,000 per year. Base salary is determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to market data, location, internal equitability, domain knowledge, experiences and skills. In general, if the position sparks your interest we encourage you to apply - our team prioritizes talent.
