Business Development Executive

CANQualify | Torrance, CA

Make a Difference with Us!

CANQualify helps businesses navigate carrier qualification and compliance requirements with solutions designed to simplify complex processes and support safer, more compliant operations.

We are looking for a driven, self-motivated Business Development Executive who knows how to hunt for new business, open doors, and turn prospects into customers. This is a new-business-focused sales role for someone who enjoys the challenge of building a pipeline from the ground up, generating their own leads, and consistently pursuing opportunities to close new accounts.

The ideal candidate is proactive, persistent, competitive, and comfortable picking up the phone, reaching out to decision-makers, and creating opportunities rather than waiting for leads to come in. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to generate new business, build a strong sales pipeline, and consistently meet or exceed revenue targets.

What You’ll Do

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, cold calling, email outreach, networking, and social selling.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective customers from the ground up, taking ownership of the sales process from initial contact through closing.
  • Research target markets, identify potential customers, and develop strategies to reach key decision-makers.
  • Conduct high-volume, targeted outreach to generate qualified sales opportunities and consistently build new relationships.
  • Engage business owners, executives, and other decision-makers to understand their carrier qualification, DOT/FMCSA compliance, and related business needs.
  • Clearly communicate CANQualify’s services, value proposition, and potential benefits to prospective customers.
  • Conduct sales calls, virtual meetings, and in-person presentations to move prospects through the sales process.
  • Follow up persistently with prospects, overcome objections, and maintain momentum throughout the sales cycle.
  • Develop and deliver proposals, presentations, and other sales materials tailored to prospective customers.
  • Negotiate terms and close new business in alignment with established pricing and sales guidelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospects, customers, and strategic partners to support continued business growth.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Operations to ensure a smooth transition from the sales process to implementation and service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate prospect information, activity records, pipeline data, and sales forecasts in Salesforce and other business tools.
  • Monitor sales activity and performance against established goals, adjusting prospecting strategies as needed to achieve results.
  • Represent CANQualify at industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and client meetings as needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 5 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or professional services sales.
  • A demonstrated track record of generating new business, winning new accounts, and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong prospecting skills and a willingness to make cold calls, conduct outbound outreach, and initiate conversations with unfamiliar prospects.
  • Experience building and managing a sales pipeline independently, from lead generation through closing.
  • A hunter mentality, with the drive to pursue new opportunities, overcome rejection, and consistently generate sales activity.
  • Strong negotiation, objection-handling, presentation, and closing skills.
  • The ability to identify customer needs, communicate business value, and build relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize prospecting and sales activities independently.
  • Experience with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining accountable for activity levels, pipeline development, and sales results.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities and evolving sales strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling transportation compliance, DOT/FMCSA-related services, carrier qualification solutions, or other services to transportation companies.
  • Experience selling recurring services or solutions that support ongoing business operations and regulatory compliance.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Pay/Location

  • Work Arrangement: Remote, with travel as needed for prospect and client meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Compensation: $90,000 - $95,000

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to engage in consistent outbound prospecting and direct sales outreach.
  • Ability to travel as needed to develop new business and represent CANQualify.
  • Ability to manage multiple sales opportunities, maintain accurate records, and meet established performance expectations.
  • A results-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability for new business development.
