Position Overview

K18 is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead sales efforts across the South Central U.S. region, based in Dallas, TX. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through distributor partner sales teams, developing and executing regional sales strategies, and delivering exceptional service to K18’s salon and stylist communities. The ideal candidate will have a strong industry sales background with a proven track record of success, excellent communication skills, enviable interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities and the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.

This role is focused on identifying, engaging, and converting new salon partners, bringing our innovation and education-first approach to professionals across the country.

You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, leveraging your creativity and business acumen to drive growth and achieve ambitious sales targets.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Field Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Prospect and cultivate new salon relationships across assigned territories or target markets, identifying ideal accounts for brand alignment.
  • Develop and execute account-specific annual business development plans, incorporating insights and historical data to maximize growth and profitability while addressing any challenges.
  • Partner with Education and Field Sales teams to seamlessly onboard new accounts, ensuring a white-glove experience from first touch through first purchase.
  • Deliver impactful presentations and product demos, highlighting our brand story, patented technology, and support tools to convert prospects into loyal customers.
  • Provide training and support to distributor partners and sales teams on product knowledge and sales techniques to drive sales success.

Key Salon Management & Customer Relationships:

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with distributor field teams to propel K18 as the market leading choice in the repair category.
  • Identify and explore innovative opportunities for growth within existing accounts.
  • Act as the go-to partner for your region—gathering feedback, spotting opportunities, and creating value that inspires loyalty and advocacy.

Sales Operations & Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on business development activities and performance metrics, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve targets.
  • Utilize CRM system to track sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions.

Business Development:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including marketing, brand education and activation teams, and finance to align strategies and maximize business impact.
  • Position yourself as a credible, trusted voice in the professional beauty community by sharing insights, trends, and product knowledge with authenticity.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows to represent the brand, network with industry professionals, and identify new business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ year’s experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the beauty or consumer goods industry.
  • Deep understanding of the professional salon landscape and a passion for innovation in beauty.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized self-starter with a bias for action, ownership, and impact.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Comfortable traveling 60% of the time to stay in close touch with the people powering your region.
  • Social media savvy
  • Employee must remain in their designated region and can't relocate without prior authorization

Salary Range: up to $110k USD

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and if the location of the job changes.
