Job Summary
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to expand our customer base and drive revenue growth for our precision machine shop. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, CNC machining, fabrication, or industrial sales, with a strong ability to develop customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and manage key accounts across industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, defense, and industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for CNC machining, fabrication, and precision manufacturing services.
- Build and maintain relationships with OEMs, engineers, purchasing teams, and manufacturing clients.
- Generate leads through networking, cold calling, trade shows, referrals, and industry outreach.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and quotations.
- Collaborate with estimating, engineering, and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term supply agreements.
- Track market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline and CRM records.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets and profitability goals.
- Support strategic growth initiatives and identify opportunities in new markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- 3–7 years of business development or sales experience in machine shop, CNC machining, metal fabrication, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, tolerances, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Proven track record of achieving sales growth and customer acquisition targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel for customer visits and trade shows as needed.
- Experience with CNC machining, turning, milling, sheet metal, or precision components.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, quality systems, and manufacturing workflows.
- Existing network within aerospace, medical, automotive, or industrial sectors.
- Technical aptitude to discuss manufacturing solutions with engineers and buyers.
