About the Role

LlamaIndex is growing its Business Development team. In this role, you'll generate qualified meetings and pipeline for our Account Executive team through a mix of inbound MQLs, product-qualified leads (PQLs) from platform signups and usage signals, targeted outbound prospecting, and event-driven pipeline generation. You'll work closely with your paired AE(s) to turn that interest into qualified conversations with technical and business buyers evaluating LlamaIndex.

Responsibilities
  • Qualify and work inbound MQLs and product-qualified leads (PQLs) surfaced from platform signups and usage signals.

  • Build and run targeted outbound campaigns to generate net-new pipeline.

  • Represent LlamaIndex at industry events and developer meetups, turning conversations into qualified meetings.

  • Research accounts and identify the right contacts, targeting technical and business buyers, including engineers, data teams, and AI/product leaders.

  • Build and test outbound messaging across channels, iterating on what actually gets replies.

  • Partner closely with your paired Account Executive(s) on account strategy and handoff.

  • Hit weekly meeting and pipeline-generation targets.

  • Use AI tools to speed up account research, message drafting, and prospect enrichment.

  • Keep CRM records accurate on outreach, meetings booked, and lead status.

Required Qualifications
  • 6–24 months in a BDR/SDR or pipeline-generation role, with some evidence of self-sourced meetings, not purely inbound.

  • Comfortable reaching out to and qualifying technical buyers, including engineers, data, and AI/ML personas.

  • Strong written communication. Outreach that reads like a person wrote it, not a template.

  • AI-first: active user of ChatGPT, Claude, or similar for research, prospecting, and outreach drafting.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience at a startup or high-growth company, ideally technical SaaS, developer tools, data infrastructure, or AI/ML products.

  • Experience working a mix of inbound and outbound pipeline generation.

  • Exposure to product-led growth motions (PQLs, self-serve signups) is a plus.

Why Join Us?
  • Early Stage, Real Impact: Join early and help shape how we generate pipeline, not just execute a fixed script.

  • Strong AI Brand: Sell backed by one of the largest open-source AI frameworks and communities, giving us reach beyond most companies our size.

  • Direct Path to Growth: A clear track to Mid-Market Account Executive as you grow in the role.

  • Real Ownership: Own your accounts, your messaging, and your pipeline math end to end.
