About the Role

The Business Development Representative (BDR) role is responsible for identifying and qualifying sales opportunities for the Mendel sales organization. This position lays the foundation for a successful SaaS sales career for candidates willing to learn and work towards that goal.

This is not a remote position. The ideal candidate will need to be onsite/available in San Jose 5 days a week.

You Will 

  • Lead Generation: Be a hunter! Generate new business opportunities through proactively prospecting, networking and researching through a defined target account list

  • Qualification: Evaluate inbound and outbound leads to prioritize prospects based on a defined ideal customer profile (ICP)

  • Pipeline Management: Manage and nurture a robust sales pipeline through Salesforce and Outreach

  • Product Knowledge: Learn the Mendel GTM strategy, and effectively communicate our value proposition to potential customers

  • Communication: Engage with prospects various channel of communication (phone, email, social, etc)
  • Consultative Selling: Leverage a consultative approach to uncover prospect needs and identified pain points, to customize a solution that addresses the needs of the business
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product and Engineering/AI teams to align strategies and share insights, to optimize lead generation
  • Metrics Tracking: Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, opportunity velocity and revenue attribution to contribute to data-driven analytics
  • Continuous Education: Curiosity comes naturally. Strive to develop professionally by attending training sessions, workshops, and industry events

You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field
  • Minimum 2+ years career experience, preferably at least 1 year experience in B2B enterprise technology SaaS sales
  • Track record of documented top performance and exceeding expectations
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
  • Proficiency in BDR tech stack: Salesforce, Outreach/Salesloft, LI Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Gong

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of various sales methodologies such as Challenger, MEDDIC, SPIN, Solution Selling and Customer-Centric Selling a plus
  • Experience selling into Biotechnology, Healthcare a plus

Compensation
$65,000 - $80,000 + (Commission)
