Overview

Pulse is tackling one of the most persistent challenges in data infrastructure: extracting accurate, structured information from complex documents at scale. We have a breakthrough approach to document understanding that combines intelligent schema mapping with fine-tuned extraction models where legacy OCR and other parsing tools consistently fail.

We are a small, fast-growing team of engineers in San Francisco powering Fortune 100 enterprises, YC startups, public investment firms, and growth-stage companies. We are backed by tier 1 investors and growing quickly.

What makes our tech special is our multi-stage architecture:

  • Layout understanding with specialized component detection models

  • Low-latency OCR models for targeted extraction

  • Advanced reading-order algorithms for complex structures

  • Proprietary table structure recognition and parsing

  • Fine-tuned vision-language models for charts, tables, and figures

If you are passionate about the intersection of computer vision, NLP, and data infrastructure, your work at Pulse will directly impact customers and shape the future of document intelligence.

What we are looking for

  • 5 days in-office at our San Francisco office

  • Eager to learn and adapt quickly

  • Prior startup or founding experience is a plus

About the Role
As a Business Development Representative at Pulse, you will be the first point of contact for enterprises and AI-native teams exploring document intelligence. You will build pipeline from targeted outbound, qualify high-value opportunities, and partner closely with Account Executives and forward deployed engineers to move prospects into pilots. This role is ideal for someone who is disciplined, curious about technical products, and excited to shape the top of the funnel for a fast-growing platform used across finance, insurance, healthcare, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a high-quality top of funnel across enterprise and upper mid-market

  • Research accounts, identify entry points, and run targeted outbound sequences

  • Conduct initial qualification to understand workflows, document volume, and constraints

  • Partner with AEs to develop account strategies and support multi-stakeholder cycles

  • Maintain clean CRM hygiene across sequences, activities, and qualification notes

  • Follow emerging trends in document AI, LLMs, and data infrastructure to build credibility in conversations

Requirements

  • 1+ year in a BDR, SDR, sales, or customer-facing role in B2B software

  • Strong writing, concise communication, and ability to synthesize customer needs

  • Comfortable speaking with engineering, data, or operations teams

  • Interest in ML, data infrastructure, and enterprise workflows

  • High ownership, strong work ethic, and comfort with a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • Experience in enterprise outbound or selling into technical teams

  • Prior startup experience or early-stage environment
