About the Role

We're hiring Business Development Representatives to help fuel the top of our sales funnel by introducing Playground to child care providers across the country.

This is a highly outbound role where success comes from building relationships, generating qualified opportunities, and consistently creating pipeline for our Account Executives. You'll research accounts, develop thoughtful outreach strategies, and help providers understand how Playground can transform their business operations.

This is a launchpad role with clear opportunities for growth into Account Executive, Account Management, or other customer-facing roles for high performers.

What You'll Do

Generate New Pipeline

  • Execute high-volume outbound prospecting through calls, emails, text, and social outreach.

  • Research child care providers to understand their business, current technology, growth plans, and operational challenges.

  • Build personalized, value-driven outreach campaigns that consistently generate qualified meetings.

Qualify Opportunities

  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer pain points, priorities, and timing.

  • Identify qualified opportunities and seamlessly transition them to Account Executives.

  • Maintain detailed account notes and next steps in Salesforce to ensure successful handoffs.

Partner Across the Sales Team

  • Collaborate with Account Executives on territory planning and account prioritization.

  • Support multi-threading efforts into larger multi-site organizations.

  • Share customer insights with Marketing, Product, and Revenue Operations to continuously improve messaging and sales strategy.

Continuously Improve

  • Refine messaging through coaching, call reviews, and experimentation.

  • Learn Playground's modern sales stack including Salesforce, Gong, Outreach, and Chili Piper.

  • Test new outbound approaches and share learnings with the broader team.

What You Need
  • 0–2+ years of sales experience, ideally in an outbound BDR or SDR role within B2B SaaS (strong candidates from adjacent backgrounds encouraged).

  • Comfortable making high-volume outbound calls every day.

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft personalized outreach.

  • Highly organized with excellent time management and pipeline discipline.

  • Coachable, curious, and eager to improve.

  • Resilient and motivated by challenges and rejection.

  • Interest in technology, SMB sales, or the child care industry.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience using Salesforce, Gong, Outreach, or Chili Piper.

  • Experience selling SaaS products.

  • Experience selling into SMBs or multi-location businesses.

  • Startup or high-growth company experience.

Compensation

Salary for this position is $65,000–$85,000 OTE, plus equity, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, market data, and interview performance.
