Business Development Representative - West Coast
Business Development Representative
PrimeSource Building Products, Inc., one of the nation's largest wholesale distributors of building supply products, is seeking a Business Development Representative to provide market development, sales and product support for the Outdoor Living division within an assigned geographic region.
Candidate should have a strong understanding of increasing brand awareness, dealer/contractor relationships, product confidence and brand credibility with the goal of providing an excellent customer experience to help the company reach targeted goals.
Travel is required for this position and will be about 50%. More if needed.
Responsibilities of the Business Development Representative will include the following. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Work with manager to identify potential market opportunities and generate leads.
- Conduct research on current market conditions and monitor trends and competitive activities.
- Develop strategies and promotional activities to stimulate sales.
- Provide educational training on use and specification of products to all customers.
- Review and monitor product programs to make sure they meet the needs of the local market.
- Monitor and review all sales reports on a regular basis to meet and exceed all sales and profit budgets.
- Ability to work well and within a team environment and cultivate partnerships with TM’s and others at the dealer and contractor level.
- Establish new and maintain existing working relationships with dealers, contractors, specifiers and builders to drive demand.
- Support and train co-workers on assigned products within geographic region.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Business Development Manager.
- Valid driver's license and some air & overnight travel are required.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Goal oriented and self-starter who can excel working with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Building materials or construction knowledge and experience a plus!
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word Processing and CRM software.
- Familiarity with reporting and tracking software desired.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, area, and volume.
- Must have a have a valid license, current insurance, and acceptable driving record.
