Business Development Representative
Position Summary

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for supporting business growth through relationship-building, strategic outreach, partnership development, sales initiatives, and opportunity identification. This role works closely with leadership to expand professional networks, strengthen community and corporate engagement, identify business opportunities, and support revenue-generating activities for Teamficient and its sister companies, including HAL and MDA.

The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator with strong networking, sales, and organizational skills who can build meaningful relationships and convert opportunities into measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities
Relationship Outreach
  • Assist in building and maintaining professional relationships within leadership's network.

  • Conduct outreach to individuals, organizations, and community groups to explore collaboration, referral, partnership, and business opportunities.

  • Maintain communication records and track relationship-building activities.

Award and Recognition Outreach
  • Identify individuals, organizations, and businesses receiving awards or professional recognition.

  • Develop and send personalized congratulatory messages.

  • Leverage shared achievements and recognitions to create opportunities for engagement and relationship development.

  • Position Teamficient and affiliated organizations as recognized industry leaders when appropriate.

Corporate and Community Engagement
  • Support outreach efforts to corporate executives, business leaders, chambers of commerce, professional associations, and community organizations.

  • Identify partnership, sponsorship, referral, and collaboration opportunities.

  • Research cost-effective business opportunities that align with the goals of Teamficient, HAL, and MDA.

  • Represent company interests professionally during networking and engagement activities.

LinkedIn Outreach and Networking
  • Utilize LinkedIn and other professional networking platforms to establish and strengthen business relationships.

  • Conduct outreach campaigns to prospective partners, clients, and referral sources.

  • Coordinate networking meetings, virtual introductions, lunch meetings, and other relationship-building opportunities.

  • Maintain professional communications and follow-up processes.

Business Development and Referral Opportunities
  • Identify potential business development opportunities through strategic outreach and networking efforts.

  • Develop referral partnerships and strategic alliances.

  • Assist in generating qualified leads and supporting business growth initiatives.

  • Track outreach activities, referral sources, and business development outcomes.

Bids, Grants, and Certifications
  • Review and manage business-related bids, grants, certifications, and procurement opportunities.

  • Monitor shared bid folders and identify relevant opportunities.

  • Track deadlines, requirements, and submission processes.

  • Prepare summaries, recommendations, and action plans for leadership review.

  • Support certification maintenance and new certification applications when applicable.

B2B Sales and Lead Generation
  • Conduct outbound sales outreach targeting businesses and organizations.

  • Promote Teamficient's services and the services of affiliated companies when appropriate.

  • Identify decision-makers and develop relationships with potential clients.

  • Generate and qualify leads through networking, research, and outreach efforts.

  • Support the sales pipeline through prospecting, follow-up, and relationship management.

  • Assist with presentations, proposals, and sales meetings.

Qualifications
  • Experience in business development, sales, partnerships, community engagement, recruiting, account management, or related fields.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience using LinkedIn for professional networking and outreach.

  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Experience researching and tracking opportunities, bids, grants, or certifications is preferred.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet goals.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and business communication tools.

Performance Metrics

Success in this role may be measured by:

  • Number of new relationships established.

  • Qualified leads generated.

  • Partnerships and referral opportunities created.

  • Sales opportunities developed.

  • Revenue generated through referrals and outreach efforts.

  • Bids, grants, and certifications successfully managed.

Compensation

Compensation may include a base salary or hourly rate, with additional commission opportunities available for successful referrals, partnerships, and new business generated through business development activities.
