About the Role:
US East Region - States Bordering and East of the Mississippi River
Pyxis Management Consulting Group (Pyxis), a rapidly growing public sector consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Business Development/Sales Executive to drive growth across the US East Region. The ideal candidate will bring an established network within state government agencies and the public sector ecosystem, along with a successful track record selling consulting and technology services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a regional growth strategy focused on state government agencies and strategic partners.
- Generate and manage a robust sales pipeline aligned with company growth objectives.
- Lead capture activities, opportunity qualification, competitive positioning, and account planning.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with government executives, program leaders, and procurement stakeholders.
- Collaborate with proposal, solution, and delivery teams to develop winning strategies and value propositions.
- Represent Pyxis at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Expand strategic partnerships with system integrators, technology vendors, and small-business partners to create teaming opportunities and drive growth.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of state government business development and sales experience in the last 15 years.
- Established network of decision-makers across state government, particularly within Health & Human Services, Transportation (DMV) and related programs.
- Experience with selling consulting services including Advisory, PMO, IV&V, QA, Testing, Organizational Change Management, and Systems Modernization services.
- Demonstrated success achieving revenue targets and developing long-term client relationships.
- Deep understanding of state procurement processes, RFP lifecycles, and government contracting.
- Experience supporting capture management, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the US East Region as needed.
Location: Remote – US East Region
Travel: 25–50%
Compensation: Competitive base salary plus commission and performance incentives
