NEW YORK OFFICE

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is Hong Kong’s statutory body for promoting Hong Kong’s trade with the world. Its New York Regional Office is inviting applications for the following position.

Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need of employer sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa such as a H-1B, TN, or O visa. We do not support or provide training for STEM/OPT programs.

 

Business Matching Executive (on-site position at our New York office)

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Report to Director, New York.
  • Manage the office’s databank and business matching service and related budgetary matters.
  • Strengthen the office’s databank and customer base by identifying and reaching out to major importers.
  • Assist in buyer and exhibitor recruitment as well as buyer/supplier engagement operations.
  • Assist in projects and outreach activities, where needed.
  • Research and report on the latest market trends and trade issues relevant to Hong Kong.
  • Responsible for KPIs under Head Office departments related to databank, online buyer & supplier engagement, and certain KPIs under Overseas Secretariat and customized targets (as assigned by Director, New York).
  • Manage staff under Business Matching function, if applicable.
  • Manage the office’s IT related matters.
  • Undertake ad-hoc project(s) assigned by Director, New York.

 

Job Requirements 

  • A recognized university degree with a minimum of 5 years’ solid working experience preferably with sizable organizations, in sourcing & procurement, project management, event organization, sales & marketing operations and customer service.
  • Experience and knowledge in database management. Strong interest and understanding of Hong Kong economy, trade and business arena covering various Hong Kong industries, markets and business opportunities for Hong Kong companies.
  • Strong attention to detail with business sense and an analytical mind in understanding business matching requirements.
  • Well organized and meticulous with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure WITH tight project timelines.
  • A good team player, customer-oriented with good interpersonal skills and a pleasant, outgoing personality.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in Chinese will be a definite advantage
  • Proficient in MS applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
