Job Description

Who We Are

Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is the leading entertainment and sports agency, with global expertise in filmed and live entertainment, digital media, publishing, sponsorship sales and endorsements, licensing, media finance, consumer investing, fashion, trademark licensing, and philanthropy.  Distinguished by its culture of collaboration and exceptional client service, CAA’s diverse workforce identifies, innovates, and amplifies opportunities for the people and organizations that shape culture and inspire the world.  The trailblazer of the agency business, CAA was the first to build a sports business, create an investment bank, launch a venture fund, found technology start-up companies, establish a philanthropic arm, build a business in China, and form a brand marketing services division, among other innovations.

The Role

The Business Operations Analyst supports the Finance & Operations team within Brand Consulting. This person will closely partner with management and account leads to ensure financial and operational processes are executed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with Company policies. This role requires an interest in business operations, finance, accounting, and sports and entertainment marketing, as well as the ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to process improvements.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, and eager to learn. They are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities, and applying sound judgment to support day-to-day business needs. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to quickly learn new concepts and systems, and a proactive approach to identifying priorities and completing work with limited direction.

Responsibilities

  • Attend account/function team meetings to gain a deep understanding of the business and identify opportunities to provide proactive financial and operational support.

  • Collaborate cross-departmentally across all agency verticals while maintaining a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Provide training and ongoing support to assigned teams on finance processes, systems, and policies to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

  • Track and monitor revenue, budgets, expenses, and other financial metrics for assigned teams, as needed.

  • Review finance-related submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before advancing for approval.

  • Maintain, organize, and regularly update finance and process documentation for assigned accounts and functions.

  • Manage monthly Aging Report follow-ups for assigned accounts/functions.

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and support the development, and implementation of processes that enhance efficiency and productivity.

  • Support financial planning, forecasting, and projections for assigned teams, as needed.

  • Ensure inter-company client records are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with corporate requirements.

  • Serve as a liaison between corporate Accounting & Finance and client Account teams to ensure alignment and seamless communication.

  • Prioritize and manage daily responsibilities independently, proactively identifying work that needs to be completed without requiring task-by-task direction.

  • Research and resolve routine questions by leveraging available resources, documentation, and past examples before escalating issues.

  • Exercise sound judgment and provide accurate guidance to internal stakeholders on established finance processes and policies.

  • Analyze information and recommend solutions rather than simply escalating problems.

  • Continuously develop expertise in systems, tools, and processes and maintain a strong working knowledge of existing documentation and resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on business management, project management, or similar discipline.

  • 2+ years’ experience in finance, operations, project management, or a related field OR strong internship experience in one of these areas.

  • Strong knowledge of, and a genuine interest in, business operations, finance, project management, policies, and process improvement.

  • Demonstrated learning agility with the ability to quickly absorb and apply new concepts, systems, and processes, and translate training and hands-on experience into independent execution.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through. Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies before they become issues.

  • Highly adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proven ability to prioritize work, manage competing demands, and operate effectively in an environment where responsibilities are self-directed rather than assigned on a daily basis.

  • Highly resourceful self-starter with a demonstrated ability to research issues, leverage available resources, and independently determine appropriate next steps before escalating.

  • Strong organizational, verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to ask thoughtful, well-informed questions and clearly articulate understanding, recommendations, and next steps.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); must have excellent Excel skills.

  • Creative and analytical thinker with curiosity about technology, digital solutions, and industry trends.
