About Waylin

Waylin is a rapidly growing Office of the CFO firm serving private equity-backed businesses. We partner with private equity firms and executive leadership teams to deliver hands-on finance, accounting, FP&A, AI, and technology solutions that drive business performance.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Business Operations Manager to help build the operational foundation that supports our next stage of growth.

This is a highly visible role that works directly with leadership and plays a key role in coordinating company initiatives, improving internal operations, business development, and ensuring the organization operates efficiently.

Position Summary

The Business Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing many of Waylin's internal operational initiatives outside of client delivery. This individual will coordinate projects across departments, manage company events, maintain operational processes, and help execute strategic initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, building processes, organizing complex projects, and working across multiple functional areas. Success in this position requires exceptional organization, initiative, and the ability to shift seamlessly between strategic planning and day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cross-functional operational initiatives
  • Coordinate strategic projects for company leadership
  • Develop and improve internal processes
  • Manage operational vendors and third-party relationships
  • Coordinate company subscriptions, software, and operational resources
  • Assist leadership with planning and execution of growth initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve efficiency, including using tools like Claude and Claude Cowork to streamline internal workflows

Business Development & Communications

  • Maintain proposal templates and presentation materials
  • Update client case studies
  • Coordinate conference materials
  • Support business development initiatives
  • Maintain company templates and branded collateral
  • Ensure consistent branding across presentations and communications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Management, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in business operations, project management, operations, executive support, events, or a related field
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly proficient in AI tools, with hands-on experience using Claude and Claude Cowork (or similar AI assistants) for research, drafting, process design, and workflow automation

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Professional services
  • Private equity
  • Finance
  • Business operations

Why Join Waylin?

This is a unique opportunity to work directly with company leadership and help build the operational infrastructure of a rapidly growing firm.

Rather than focusing on one functional area, you'll contribute across operations, branding, business development, and employee experience. You'll have the opportunity to improve processes, lead meaningful initiatives, and make a visible impact on the continued growth of the firm.
