Department Overview
The Video and Software Services (VSS) Field Support organization is the team that supports our public safety agencies throughout the world. We are committed to providing services for our customers who use MSI products; allowing them to focus on their mission and enable them to respond faster. Our field teams are focused on providing services and administration of various public safety software products such as 9-1-1 Call Handling, Real-Time Crime Center, Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems and Mobile Data Computing, among other offerings
Job Description

Location: Candidates must be within commuting distance of Tampa, FL.

Role Overview

The CAD System Manager oversees the operational health and technical efficiency of emergency dispatch systems. This role serves as a vital link between complex public safety technology and the first responders who rely on it. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in high-stakes, fast-paced environments and excels at building strong collaborative partnerships.

Core Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • System Optimization: Lead process improvement initiatives and perform root-cause analysis to enhance workflow efficiencies and system performance.

  • Technical Oversight: Manage and troubleshoot enterprise-level hardware and software, specifically Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, and public safety applications (CAD/Mobile).

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute customer operations policies while formulating long-term strategies for technical operational excellence.

  • Relationship Management: Cultivate mutually beneficial alliances with customers and end-users to ensure technical support is tailored to specific operational needs.

  • Incident Resolution: Proactively initiate problem-solving actions for hardware, network, and third-party components, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime.

  • Professional Expertise: Apply a minimum of 3 years of IT or public safety experience (preferably with a Bachelor’s degree) to maintain high-functioning, 911-center equipment.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $100,000-$110,000
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ years of Public Safety Applications experience involving CAD Systems

  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
